Wellwood is the human embodiment of the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Where are all my fellow Leafs fans that said we could get a 1st for Wellwood?

With his weight, Wellwood was costing the Canucks too much on road trips as he was taking up 2 seats on the plane!

This just shows TML weren't stupid to get rid of Wellwood for nothing.

He's now on re-entry waivers.

He gets picked up.

At 500,000 hes worth the risk.

Terrible management of assets IMO by Gillis.

It's a private plane, the number of seats is immaterial. I would wager that it was the additional fuel cost of having that much extra weight on board.

/I just broke a promise with myself not to knock the supposed weight issue.

I guess that's one way to look at it.

The other way is to realize how stupid TML (and their fans, and the absurd homer national media) were for actually believing as recently as 12 months ago that an undersized, under-strengthed, under-prepared, overweight player with no shot would be a 70+ point 2nd line center in the NHL for years to come.

But if TML want to be pat on the back for getting rid of a crappy player (and getting nothing in return), I guess we can give them that.

It's not all their fault. I still remember laughing when I saw The Hockey News projecting Wellwood to put up 70 points in their pool guide.

Great access lennie capturing a picture of Wellwood being informed that he is being put on waivers and using it as your avatar.

Wellwood fat jokes being old!? I'm still making fun of Tkachuk for being told he's too fat for training camp a few years back!

Nice pick or Commodore... I suppose if I signed the same contract in the off season -I would be doing the same thing!
