Vally could be the only reason why we are still in this game.

Just Terrible.

The No. 1 unit does nothing on the PP.

Vally has been great.

They need to stop having 2 people go towards the puck carrier and leave everyone else on the ice open.

We got to the playoffs though didn't we? He led the NHL in points during the playoffs.

What you said was irrelevant. How could he earn the C last year? He was already the captain. Obviously, I'm talking about the Jagr who led the Rangers to the playoffs his first year here when most people figured we'd be awful again. He earned it. Drury hasn't done anything to deserve the Rangers C.

I was really hoping after the winning streak ended that the Rangers wouldn't fall into the trap of playing bad hockey and starting a losing streak. I should stop hoping.

too slow and not enough pucks getting on toskala.....the defenseman need to hit the net and the forwards need to forecheck.......so much for the pseed game renney supposedly wants....this looks exactly like last season

I know Drury is a popular guy here and what not. But he has not earned the C by scoring 25 goals in one year, on a team that was expected to be good. He is not worth his contract. Personally, I think he has been a major dissapointment thus far.

who would you give the C to? Drury is respected not only by most fans, but in the locker room of every team he has played on

So the highlight of the period is Jamal Mayers "fighting" (actually mugging) Marc Staal?

Again, six games into a long campaign and people are in full blown panic mode.

Ripping the captain, ripping this one, ripping that one...jeeze.

I don't give the C to anyone right now. Let someone stand out and prove that they're worthy first. The Captain's C has lost its luster a bit in the NHL, in my opinion.

He has been, but what can you do. Just hope the guy comes out of it

I'm really starting to get annoyed with Renney's line shifting. FORCE these guys work together.

i think it's a pretty good game...tho i missed the first half of the second, from what i've seen both teams are hustling and covering defensively. and i haven't got any issues with the reffing. again i missed some of the game but i've been satisfied. and props to the leafs announcers. they don't have the small town homer mentality. they're calling it straight. that's what i always like about ranger announcing.

I'm not in panic mode.

I'm almost positive that I am allowed to criticize a player and post my opinion if I want to. IN MY OPINION Drury has not earned his C. That's it. There is no "panic" evident in any of my posts.

interesting thought, there have been plenty of teams that have had non stars as captains, Brian Skrudland and Guy Carbenhoe(sp) comes to mind..the captain doesnt have to be the 90point player, its the one that plays hard and is an example both on and off, the guy you want younger players to play like....

I totally agree. Drury should be lauded for playing through pain and injuries, and he is a very good defensive forward. But a Captain is a guy you turn to when things are going bad.

Jagr did exactly that in March and April last season. I wanted him gone because it was time for him to go, but I have a hard time accepting Drury as Captain. Especially now with his 1 assist in 7 games while playing 20 mins a game on a top line and top PP unit.

Staal or Dubi will be CPT of this team very soon.
