I still believe Stevens can be a solid NHL coach it's just he isn't ready yet. Demote him to Assistant and bring in Ted Nolan to show him what the **** a system is and send Berube who the **** cares where.

lol come on dude, I love Downie as much as anyone else but he should have never been a position to take that penalty. He should have dumped that puck deep, but instead he held on to long and got stripped which led to the penalty.

The penalty was BS but that doesn't mean Downie doesn't deserve some blame.

At least some consistency. I know you can't bench everyone, but holy ****, you can't routinely punish one guy and let everybody else away with everything. I mean, even Upshall is out of the doghouse.

Actually, I believe Meltzer brought that up, that Holmgren didn't want to fire Stevens since they are friends, but if it came down to it, I'm sure Snider would get involved, and it would happen. If not, you're right, but I don't think it would come to that. We already know he stepped on Clarke's toes on more than one occasion.

Because Stevens is still our coach. Considering the awful stretchs we've gone through with him already many feel it's unlikely he'd get fired this time. He seemingly would have to kill someone to get fired.

Kukkonen was awful in his 3 games and all of preseason, if showed anything he'd be playing and Alberts would still be in Boston.

He is playing much better and keeps his favorite "slashing penlaty" in check.

Just got home, and to me, it would seem, in my eyes, that in my opinion upon reading the box score, of the results of this game, that our PK needs work. Just saying

History has proven over and over that this is the case. Biron will return to the starting position and Nitty will be seen as the good back-up who lacks focus. Just give it time. It never fails.

Amazing isn't it? One young guy takes a penalty and makes mistakes all night, but he's given more icetime. Another young guy takes a penalty and that leads to a goal (which is pure luck, a PP goal could be scored when ANYBODY is in the box) and he doesn't see the ice again. Makes sense to me.

Yeah, he is, but he took a penalty that resulted in a 5 on 3. His reward? More icetime.

Don't get me wrong, I love Upshall and want him on the ice, it just doesn't make sense.

That was a very strange call.. I do not see a lot of those.

I think Upshall is playing well. This season.

I am not sure if you are sarcastic with your posts.. Are you?

I don't know that he won't be fired, but I think it's extreamly unlikely that he will be fired in the next few days. Per Tim Panaccio's artical today...

Translation: if the Flyers lose to the white-hot Sharks, there could be some call-ups from the Phantoms or a trade come Monday.

As for Stevensí job security, thatís not even in play here. Holmgren assured this is not the Chicago Blackhawks, who fired legendary Denis Savard this week after just four games. Recall, the Flyers lost 10 games in succession last February and Stevensí survived that. The Flyers have considerably more patience than many clubs.

No I'm not being sarcastic. Scottie's playing well. He's one of my favourite players and it's great to see.

It's just confusing that last year any mistake he would make lands him in the doghouse. Now this year he can make similar mistakes and it goes unpunished.
