Blake is only going to make the hole bigger. Hopefully he finds the hole, that makes it to waivers.

Then Wilson could point out which hits were legal and which ones worthy of suspension and keep doing this daily until Hollweg grasps the ones that are allowed within the game.

Its said the vets have to provide the leadership and role models for the young players to learn and here at least Blake could make himself useful in a teaching capacity.

Harsh, harsh stuff, Mess.

But... works for me.

Its tough love Rec.

Its all about what is best for the team with me.

Blake doesn't seem to be serving any purpose out on the ice so perhaps he can make himself more useful in practice in some capacity.

Thought long and hard and couldn't come up with anything else at this point other then maybe teaching the youngsters his goal celebration after narrowing the score to 5-1 during a game and how to embarrass yourself in the process.

If this play continues throughout the season he's definitely on a one way ticket to buyout-ville.

Even though we'll suffer a six year cap hit Fletch may want to keep it civil and not lose even more respectability among the hockey world. The organization has suffered enough in the PR department over the last 30 years.

If Blake even so much as says a boo, then Leafs immediately start looking at placing him in the new Kontinental Hockey League . We simply don't need players not will to be buy into Wilson's coaching techniques.
To make things easier on Blake and Wilson, would be putting Blake on the third line to forecheck and cause a few turnovers. By playing on the third line, his shot from no mans (into the goalies chest) actually becomes beneficial in getting the faceoff in the opposing zone.

Pony Mayers Blake

Top 2 Lines:

Tlusty Steen Antropov
Hagman Grabs Kulemin

Thoughts?

I figure the only way we get rid of Blake is him showing he can still play and perhaps get close to that 40 goal season... A buyout at his contract would be way too costly in my opinion (something like 2.7 million a year for 8 years?), so Blake will need to play his way off this team.

Hey I am fine with all suggestions and anything that makes Blake less useless then he presently is. A reduction is ice time the first place to start.

You have at least singled out the Leafs Top 6 forwards, something that Wilson hasn't figured out yet .. " Play the kids and bench the vets ".

Blake would be getting 4th line minutes on the Marlies if I had my way. I can't stand that little weasel .

Last season on the 3rd line with Stajan he seemed to play decent. Having the pressure off will probably help him.

Ponikarovsky is a veteran. Mistakes are to be expected of Grabovski, Ponikarovsky should know better.

hahaha...

I can't wait for the first 'Fire Wilson' thread. It's gunna be a blast!

afterthis year the buyout would be 1.32 per year, for 6 years..
(.66x12mil=7.92.. 7.92/6=1.32)

so it doesnt look that bad, considering we already have tucker for the next six years already... i think it should seriously be considered in the upcoming offseason

Have a laugh at Raycraps expense:

Colorado Avalanche @ Dallas Stars

He just let in 2 goals in the last 5 minutes. Colorado was up 5-2 but now it's 5-4. with 13min left.

You realize Grabovsi's averaging first line PP time, right?

But still if Colorado wins this game and if Raycroft does not get pulled he will equal his win total from all of last season.

The last one was called back but the two before it were classic Razor.

Tucker has been playing well. Even scored a goal.

I've just caught the box score. I know they had Tucker pencilled in with Sakic earlier, but I think he was dropped down. Who is he playing with now?

Yeah, he's been aaight. I've seen one game this season where Darcy also did his thang.
That Burtsrom mutha really got game too, he knows exactly where to be on the ice mane.

THis game tonight will be a bounce-back game for the Leafs. I'm thinking this team will SCORE goals tonight, think about it... if a human being shoots the puck, it will go in sometimes. The Leafs didn't score last night, but tonight they'll shoot the puck and score. That there... is life.

I'm annoyed that Tucker didn't sign with a contender. He'd be a perfect third/low end 2nd liner on an elite team, playing a very valuable role ala Holmstrom.

Raycroft's face is much more pale than in Toronto. He looks white. Does that mean he's been using alcohol or some medicine in Colorado??
