Good, now if they could just institute an "eye-for-an-eye" policy.

Will the Flyers react like the did last playoffs (do nothing but talk) or like they did against the Rangers?

NHL justice is officially a joke.

Seems to me this is Havlat's 2nd infraction with a stick. It's two-handed. To the head.

So where's the hue and cry that we heard when it was McSorley?

Havlat is a scorer. McSorley is a goon.

Havlat 2 games. McSorley gone for life.

And then the NHL wonders why people complain about consistency in officiating.

It would've been different if Recchi got even a scratch. Instead, he took no damage and never missed a shift. Now if he lost an eye or was severly cut...I'd give him 5+ games. But it was a stupid mistake on Havlat's part and that's why its 2 games.

Havlat deserved a suspension, but it wasn't anything close to what McSorley did.

Winning the game is more important. If the game appears decided something may get done.

Against the Rangers, we knew they were horrible and it didn't matter if we committed a penalty or four. Aginst Ottawa, they score a few PP goals and the game is over.

Actually it's his first with the stick...the one earlier this year was when he tried to stuff his foot up Cairn's arse.

You aren't trying to compare what havlat did last night to what McSorley did are you?

Because if you are comparing a player hunting a player down the ice and axeing him over the head to what Havlat did last night...you need a reality check dude.

It was in the heat of the moment, unlike McSorley's, very similar to what Doug Weight did, this suspension is about right.

This is the regular season remember, not a 7th game in the playoffs.. Recchi is pretty good with the gloves off and he should make the cheap ******* accountable for his actions.

Things are so tight in the East, that one game could be the difference of being a 1-2 seed or the 4-5 seed. A big difference.

Whether Havlat gets it Friday night, or next November matters little.

Yeah it does, because by next Novemeber it'll be forgotten. Rex should just challenge him off the opening face off. Don't jump him, just challenge him and embarress him in front of the whole NHL, because Havlat won't take up the challenge.

Plus if the game gets ugly and Flyers are without Fridge, Primeau and Brashear, Sens could manhandle Flyers pretty easily. That doesn't happen often now does it
But I still think Recchi should try to get Havlat at some point but without getting the stupid 27 min package from the refs.
BTW what was wrong with 2+2 for roughing when a player turtled??

Nothing is gonna happen with Philly next week. A whole lot of talk, and not a lot of action. If the Flyers try to goon it up, then great. We'll put a few pucks in their net instead.

I'm not worried, and I doubt Havlat is either. I'm sure he'll play one hell of a game.

havlat is just a cheap sob who wouldn't have a pair of balls if it wasn't for the instigator rule.
Havlat has more suspensions than fighting majors so gutless puke comes to mind..

We all know you don't get punished for what you do, it's who you are and did anyone get hurt.

If he was a gutless puke he would go cower in some corner. He's not a fighter, so what do you expect? He needs to stick up for himself somehow. This isn't the way to go about doing it, but I don't have a problem with him being borderline dirty as long he doesn't do anything really stupid. He's hardly the only one (not to mention this hit, which didn't include any stick in the way, is being blown completely out of proportion).

If you're gonna give it, you better be prepared to take it.

Besides, Havlat is one gutless puke who I bet you would love to have on your team. :

Havlat is gritty, chippy, even dirty. I love it. It makes him a better player.
I am not condoning what he did to Recchi, a suspension was deserved, but if a few dumb boneheaded mistakes are the result of his fiery style of play, then so be it. He'll learn to behave himself eventually, but the fire will remain.

LOFL yeah be prepared for "some borderline dirty actions from Havlat" if you hook him the wrong way.
He should accept if Recchi challenges him. Period.
He is a good, feisty player but he should back it up. Until he does he's just a cheap ***** who hides behind Neil.

Recchi challenge him? All he did was get his stick up on him as well and clutch and grab...or was it Leclair? I forget, so many players doing the same thing all night long...what are the odds that one skilled player is gonna challenge another anway.

No one has ever challenged Havlat to a fight, so how can you call him a ****** hiding behind Neil? He's had people come to have words, plenty of people giving him plenty of stick work, but no glove dropping that I could see.

Besides which, I have a feeling that if someone decided to punch Havlat in the chops, he wouldn't turtle.
