Nashville has some speed with Erat, Legwand, Timonen, Sullivan, Walker, Hamhuis, Orszagh, Zidlicky and even Tootoo.
I definitely think Nashville is up in the top 5.. it would be interesting to match that with Semenov, Chimera, Salmelainen, Horcoff (actually beat Chimmer in our skills contest this season), Hemsky, York and Dvorak..
Hejduk, Selanne, Kariya, Forsberg, Sakic, Tangay, Blake, Liles... need I go on?
Hedjuk's biggest asset isn't speed, it's his shot. Selanne DOESN'T use his speed(whatever's left), Forsberg's groin doesn't let him use any speed he has, Sakic isn't as fast as he used to be, and Blake isn't fast.
personally i'd say edmonton but thats more to do with the western conference more than anything.. not that there isnt clutching and grabbing there but it IS more wide open then the "my team has bigger players than yours" attitude taking over GMs out east.. the sens do have a lot of speed as well..
i'd say the best way to compare is to do it by conference for reasons i vaguely alluded to above..
so, in that sense my choices:
east: sens and bolts
west: oilers, nashville, san jose and colorado (the avs may not have the fastest guys on the ice but when they play together and as a team their speed/skill levels complement each other to make them dangerous and considered a "fast team")
