Carters value is not lower then Kaberles value.

Call Florida and ask about Jay-Bo instead.

How about Briere and Parent for Kabs and Steen. Like it?
I would probably say yes to Kubina Alberts for Briere and Steen
NMC aside.
Steen is one of the best defensive players in the league (according to that crunching #'s article that everyone liked on NHL board). He had 42 points last season, while playing mostly with Matt Stajan. Only 9 of his points were on the PP, 2 of them were goals. ES Carter had 35 points, ES Steen had 33.

Of course I'm not saying Steen has the offensive potential that Carter has, but Steen is still a great prospect with more offensive upside then people give him credit for, and already is a rock on defense.

I think he needs a change of scenery from Toronto, and could really succeed somewhere else, while actually playing with someone talented.

Point is, I think every team could use a player like Steen, and cost aside..... would love to have him on their team. To each there own though, I'll venture back to the Toronto board.

Not really. Outside Briere and Richards, our depth at center isn't great.

If anyone on our roster were to be traded to free up cap space, I'd think Carter is pretty far down the list.

i like steen, but the flyers aren't trading anything worthwhile to get him. maybe if TO traded kaberle and steen for carter and knuble

Playing behind Sundin and Antropov?
Ok, then.
Dude stop trying to sell Steen here.

He is no better then Umberger.

I'm a huge Alex Steen fan, but he isn't some kid of second coming where the Flyers should be exhausting valuable resources for him.

6.5 for Briere is a good cap hit.....who cares about the salary, the Flyers can afford the cash

He probably will have to make a trade, but I would go with Lupul or a prospect over Carter, unless it is a package deal and includes a very, very good shut down 3rd line center in return and you go with Briere and Richards as the top two....Anything involving Toronto would have to involve Stajan and Kaberle in my opinion

Plus he has proven to be much better on the wing if I recall

No, if Carter is getting moved, its going to be for a top defender like Boumeester. We have an abundance of wingers, so this deal just wouldn't make sense.

How would that help? We desperately need a defenseman.
