OT - Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings @ Olympia

Should anyone be looking for something to do on Thursday evening, Oct 30th, I'd highly recommend popping by the Olympia. Tickets available through Admission.com @ $25.00 before other fees, $33.00 after.

An old school 70s soul-funk experience with all the bells and whistles, Ms. Jones is basically a female version of James Brown and the Dap-Kings are the band that got Amy Winehouse such great reviews on her first album's authentic sound.

If you have a pulse, you'll enjoy it. I'll be the guy with the Sun Records T-shirt

Here are a few clips.

Ana..... I made the mistake of watching it at school in the Library and I forgot to turn the volume down.... I was laughing soooo hard.

K, let's make it official. I want to drink with JMMR. THAT would be fun.

Instead of cleaning my apartment and doing laundry, I decided to lurk some other team boards.

I fail at life.

You told me about them and I bought my daughter their CD last Christmas. She loves them. She was thrilled, said she didn't think people made music like that anymore.

That's this Thursday, I think it'll be tough, I'll let the young'un know.

First off all, we didnt go to Hurleys. We ended up next door at Brutopia.
Now, at Brutopia, must say I had conversations with JMMR, Russel, Mcphee and Beaker, mostly JMMR. All 4 of them were super nice guys.
Everyone was very nice, was a pleasure to meet everyone (Ana, LW, AD, Fido, riverside habs fan, thats all i remember, hope im not leaving anyone out...AD's wife too).

Once everyone decided to leave I invited JMMR and riverside to come with me and my friend to my other friends club. They accepted the invitation and we had a great time. JMMR is honestly one of the funniest guys in the world.

We baught a bottle of vodka and theirs only 1 word to describe JMMR.....WASTED!!!!!!
I have video proof...Youtube videos will be up LATE Sunday night.
Me and Riverside had a good laugh while I was drivig the 2 of them back to their hotel.

now, Im going to bed, i have a few pics to post on sunday and let me tell you, the JMMR videos are priceless

goodnight
Basically, I left, was supposed to go eat and after that, David and I were supposed to join you (JD, JMMR, RSHF and JD's bud) to that bar. Finally, no decent restaurants were open (and wheelchair accessible) so we called for delivery (some chicken bbq place named "New Delivery System B.B.Q." ). I fell asleep before it actually arrived... I fail. When it arrived, I ate like a real pig and fell asleep again.

Oh it was a good night. No one told you about what happened when JMMR and RSHF came to the hotel room. First, JMMR yells "THE LEGENDRARY MAN!", then I start laughing, we chat and notice that JMMR is freakin' wasted. They both go to bed and I shut the table light down. 2 minutes later, we hear a big BAAAAAANG! and then, there's a strange smell that comes to my nostrils. I turn the lights on, and JMMR was sitting right between the two beds. I just tell him, hey John, wtf are you doing there? He gets up and jumps in their bed, right in the middle and almost killed RSHF while jumping in it. We then hear strange noises... JMMR rushes is body to the bathroom, pukes, etc. The poor guy was wasted... I went to the bathroom to see what was going on. The guy rushed himself in the middle of the beds and jumps in MY bed! I tell him, John... This is my bed! He answers: Hey, I'm okay man. I respond: "I'm glad that you're okay but you're in the wrong bed!" While I want pull him out of my bed,... he answers again: Hey, I am okay buddy. JMMR

Finally, I've been able to pull him out of my bed and slept in his own. Poor RSHF

This morning, we pulled the elephant's head on JMMR's head while he was still sleeping!

Finally he comes back

Nice to know that and Jaydee are now on your background!
And no... Beaker did not go wild... in Public

Why don't you come in Kingston then? I'd turn straight for that night!

*****

I know that not all of you guys could not make it but we had a real nice time altogether. It was nice to meet and chat with all of you!

And on our way to the bar, JMMR knocked on a window of La Queue de Cheval's... People obviously looked and discovered the . People eating their $200 meal watching dancing in the rain = Priceless.

No joke .... If I could have been there, I would have.... You should all car pool and come to the Wings/Habs game November 26th.... My younger sister and I are thinking about getting tickets.

Man. I so want to get drunk with you guys. I would have been just like JMMR, but with a lot more stumbling and probably louder. Possibly more profanity.

ETA: Silly .... Don't you know Kingston is still a really far drive? And what is in Kingston? Bars? Ok, maybe I'm in.....

That video has been kept for future use (when JMMR say something that makes no sense)

That was just awesome!

Looks like it... IF they are able to beat Cole Hamels tomorrow (which I doubt, but still very possible), then they might put all the pressure on the Phillies at Tropicana Field...

Still

OT: What happened to that "Trade Latendresse" thread by Wowjustwow?

Who needs TV when you've got YouTube vids from last night?

You're right, the thread would get shut down.

Would have been really funny, though.

I do, and I usually like to go for about seven hours, but I'm just waiting on the load of laundry I put in the washing machine. It's almost done. I was gonna procrastinate some more (you know, until tomorrow or maybe next weekend) but then I'd have no work-appropriate clothes.
