Pyatt is our 2nd line RW.

Nothing else needs to be said.

I wasn't all that impressed with his play the first couple of games, though he was only playing fourth line minutes and that might not be the best representation of his skill level in the league.

Anyway, I'm sure someone will pick him up, he's worth it at $600k.

Wouldn't mind Shero taking a shot at him. Could send one of Thomas or Bissonnette down, or both to make room.

Some more skill couldn't hurt, especially for a winger.

I can't see Kaspar getting past the first couple of teams that have a shot a him. Yea, his stock has dropped considerably, but a former 1st rounder (especially one as recent as Kaspar) is pretty well always going to get another shot.

I'd love to see the Leafs grab him, but I'm not holding out hopes for that. I just hope whatever team takes him gives Kasper a legitimate shot at the NHL (i.e. don't put him on the 4th line and expect miracles).

I doubt he makes it past Atlanta, to be honest. Carolina didn't even make the playoffs last year and i'm already convinced he'll be way gone before they come around.

Remember any team that claims him will have to have a roster spot available for him and to fully utilize him, an NHL club needs to give him top 6 minutes. I pick the Canucks because they have two massive holes in their top 6, especially with Demitra injured for an undisclosed time.

I remember SJ fans being pretty high on Kaspar..Seems pretty damn random at me.

Like someone else said I wouldn't be suprised to see RW getting 'ol Cliff to try to aquire him.

So is the waiver order in accordance to the current standings?

I doubt he gets claimed. Every time this board says someone should definitely be claimed, he never does and then some mediocrety like Matt Ellis gets claimed...

I think it's still last year's standings. I hope it isn't because then the Flyers get first crack, and if he's claimed by the Flyers, his first game is against the Sharks.

Someone confirm? IB are you reading this?

This is somewhat of a legit asset though. This isn't some schmoe who is overrated or extra baggage. Kaspar hasn't been around long enough to be either one of those.

Thanks. Well, this is good news for the canucks. Even though looking at his stats, he hasn't done too well in both the ahl and the nhl, he would still be a good pickup considering his age and potential.

A lot of teams passed on a 16, 19 and 17 goal scorer in Ouellet and even Wellwood who might be trash but was a pretty good point producer before his injury.

I HOPE Atlanta passes on him and so do the other teams because they like what they have currently, i'd love for Shero to pick him up. Kaspar can play lw or rw and could use a change of scenery. I've read that he's more of a playmaker so he wouldn't be a bad player for Staal on the 2nd line currently. An upgrade on the wings.

Waiver priority is based on last seasons stats, changes on Nov.1st to current standings

You think another forward added to the flyers is going to help? The flyers problems to me are defense and coaching, one is fixed when guys are back from being hurt while the other should be gone by now.

Waiver claims are based on last year's standings until November 1, at which point they're based on the current year's standings. [Of course, considering this gets explained every time someone goes on waivers and the question is raised, I would like to think that after the 37th time people would know how this works.]

And before anyone asks, no - if a team claims a player, they do not fall to the end of the list for the next waiver claim. Yes, we've answered this question 37 times as well.

Fletcher is backed against the wall on his 23 man roster as is.. As much as he'd may be a nice asset to nab for free, I'm not sure he does it... unless he waives Hollweg

I don't have much faith in Fletch, but he's not stupid enough to jump on this. Tlusty is infinitely more worthy of icetime, and he ain't even getting it. Kulemin is still being ramped up into a decent chunk of ice time...no room.

Really? The guy doesn't even look like a NHL player. He's terrible. I wouldn't be shocked if he was claimed, but if he was it would only be based on him being a former 1st round pick.

I believe Sharks signed him as UFA for a cheap one year contract. So if people were really high on him, they could have gone after him in the off-season as well.

Based on this, I think he goes through without getting claimed.

Kaspar was an RFA.
