I wouldn't mind that. They always play us tough, and that just frustrates me because they are an average team otherwise. Wasn't there a game last season where we completely outplayed them for 59 minutes, and they scored in the final seconds to tie it? I was fearing that tonight, but Halak was strong and just bought a lot of confidence for me.
I was thinking the same thing. With the goalie pulled and the Habs on the PK, it wasn't looking too good for a bit.

Yes. In fact, it was early October just like this one. We completely dominated them that night, Vokoun was absolutely insane. We were leading 1-0 when Komo took a bad penalty with just over 2 minutes left and Horton tied it with just seconds left. We then dominate the OT, nothing goes in and we lose the SO. EVERYTHING was lining up for the EXACT same thing to happen tonight when Lapierre took that penalty but the ending was different.
- Maybe Chipchura could give Latendress the number for his power skating coach, he seems alot faster and his skating has actually improved.
Is this a joke? Latendresse's skating has improved so much this season.. not taking away the fact that Chipchura has improved, but Latendresse is FAST this year.

Maybe Adam can use the # of a poster that actually watched the Habs...
- Tanguay and Koivu keep on having a nice chemestry.
- Latendresse had a tougher game though.
- The D had good stints, but bad moments as well.
- Hamrlik has been a stud... as always.
- Markov is elite... seriously... he's unreal.
- Komo's coming along slowly but surely.
- Kovalev had a better 2nd and 3rd period, but still has to give more IMO.
- Plekanec is not confident, but is not playing THIS bad...
- Sergei had a tough, tough, tough game.
- Chipchura is playing great, I wonder if we should keep him on the wing. The more it goes, the more I see him playing on the wing in his career if he plays in Montreal.
- Lang is the Hamrlik version of the Habs' offense. Steady, clever, and efficient.
- Kostopoulos : DON'T FALL ON THE BLUELINE!
- Lapierre : Becoming greater and greater.
- Dandenault : ... Not bad, not great, just Dandy.
- Bouillon : Good... he'll be all right.
- Halak : Wow!
All in all, great game, considering we were missing two guys who scored 27 and 26 last year...

no he is not, but he is a damn good hockey player.
the team needs to realize there won't be any easy games this year. they seem to play their B game against bad teams or when they get the lead thinking it's going to be an easy one..

Didn't we have a 0-0 tie go to a shootout last year, or was that two years ago?
These defensive struggles do nothing for me. Slow 1-0 and 2-1 games put me to sleep. Except for our PP's, we had nothing going offensively, and it's always like that against Florida. Boring!
Although he scored no goals tonight, I am constantly impressed that Lang, as a 2B centre, is able to generate shots and chances. 7 shots tonight. That line is gonna wear out defenses for the other two top lines all year.
BTW, what WAS Lang's line tonight? I read one thing in the GDT, and heard other things during the game.
no he is not, but he is a damn good hockey player.
Mhmm.
He has improved as a hockey player, hands still arn't great. But I have no idea how people think he is a better skater. He can't keep up with Koviu who I don't think to many people would consider fast. His turning radius is now closer to a Hummer instead of a Greyhound.

Now there's a twist I didn't see coming.
And who was right about Lapierre ladies and gents? Blades was right about Lapierre.
I dig this win. It wasn't pretty, it wasn't our best performance, we had injuries but we dealt with some adversity, the grinders made a key offensive play and we found a way to win in the end. That's what very good teams do!
Discuss.
I know we have a couple injuries but this is hardly a B team
