As a neutral fan, I have no qualms about taking Lucic. Hulking, nasty, has a little touch, leadership, and a great attitude. Big game player.

I would easily take lucic, and I'd be more than happy if he gets 20 goals a year.

Lats is way overrated, tbh. And i'm not saying that as a Bruins fan, but as a hockey fan...
But you are a bruins fan, therefore, you are pretty much saying it as.. you guess it.

Montreal fans were desperately hoping Latendresse could play with Lucic's mean streak but after two years of frustration, it looks as though Latendresse is coming into his own this season. That is, a sort of Erik Cole type of player. A guy who will hit a lot, and is capable of 30g/30a, but who will not play that PF intimidation style of game. His skating finally seems up to an acceptable level and it's made a tremendous difference to his overall impact on in a given game.

Lucic should be a solid 20g/20a guy, but his energy, determination and overall physical abilities will always make him more valuable than just the points he puts up. I think his offensive upside may have been slightly overrated, but there are genuine reasons to be excited about what he brings to the table. His size and physical play are an asset whether he plays a top 6 role or a bottom 6 role.

One thing to keep in mind is that Latendresse if further along his development so the comparison could be off for the next few years as both players move towards their full potential and both will have ups and downs. But that's natural, he's 1 year older and had 1 extra year in the NHL.

This year, I think 25g/25a is a distinct possibility for Latendresse as he is playing great hockey on a line with Koivu and Tanguay and he should benefit from significant PP time. I have no idea what to expect numbers wise from Lucic, but I know he'll continue to be an impact player for the Bruins. Without trying to sound negative I think 15g/20a should be viewed as a positive season for him and he can keep building his offensive game. He won't be asked to carry the team offensively, which should help him improve his all-around game.

Yeah, I think Lucic would be luck, this year, to have a 35 point year - butI don't think people can expect it. Both are good talents and should see plenty of each other of the next 5 years.

Has Komi ever hit someone through the glass?

I hate myself for this, but I voted Lucic.

He's definitely overrated, but he's a great player and will be a great player.

That's not taking anything away from Latendresse though as he's having a very good start to the season.

The difference is, my young friend, that Komisarek does not need to take a bunch of strides and jump to hit someone hard. Many NHL players consider him as the east's best hitter. Metropolit : "Being hit by Komisarek is like being hit by a car".

Calculating the hitting power of one by using broken glass factors is ridiculous.

LOL since when is Latendresse overrated? 3/4 of the habs board still bash him and 1/4 is starting to realize that he is only 21.

I'm gonna take the guy that can score rather than the goon.

I haven't read too much about him lately, but a couple of years ago, a lot of Habs fans were saying he was going to be the next great player for Montreal, they would talk like he was a sure fire 50 goal scorer.

I voted Lucic, mainly because if I was building a team, I feel the kind of player Lucic is would be more beneficial to the team than Latendresse, and brings more to the ice than Latendresse, but as many have said, time will tell. But as it looks now Lucic seems like the better choice because it would be easier to find a player similar to Latendresse, rather than a guy like Lucic.

attn habs fans: i thought latendresse was fat?

in all seriousness, both great guys to have on any team. i think lats is only appreciated on the habs board, and his skills go a bit un-noticed. in a couple years he will be fantastic for the habs in terms of scoring.

lucic is lucic, im a bruins fan so ill save it haha

Homers vs Homers poll.
Did any Habs fan actually vote for Lucic and any Bruins vote for Latendresse?

Hardly comparable.

Latendresse is projected as a top-six powerforward who can score and play physical at the same time.
Lucic is a third-line shutdown forward with some offensive potential.

Both will be great players IMO. I voted for Latendresse since I'm a Habs fan.

Good grief, this isn't even close. Habs fan here. If we could trade Latendresse to the Bruins for Lucic, I'd be laughing all the way to the bank. That would be a heist, IMO.

And despite the lack of French in his name, Lucic would be very popular in Montreal. The fans there would love him if he was a Hab.

Both are two young players I'd want on my team who play a unique style. I see Lats getting more points than Lucic but I haven't seen a whole lotta Lucic this year. With Latendresse playing with Tanguay and Koivu I'll go with him.

Umm..Air? Why was Lats given a number no other player had ever taken then? Yeah I was posting on the Canadiens board when this guy was put on the team, it was a Lucic fap fest all over again except with a certain je ne sais quoi.
