Min/LA

LA trades
Frolov, Hickey, Ersberg, Conditional 1st*, one of Moller/Simmonds/Voinov/Lewis

*If LA picks top 5 this year then the pick goes to next year

for

Gaborik and Harding (maybe another pick or prospect??)

*Also note this is on the assumption Gaborik will sign long term in LA.

I don't see why LA would do this. They are still rebuilding, not tryin to compete now.

If the rumor that the Kings nixed a deal that sent Johnson and a pick for Gaborik is true, then this is drastic overpayment.

Frolov, Hickey and Moller/Simmonds/Voinov/Lewis > Johnson

A bit much really, though having Harding would make for a whole lot of competition come next season (hell, maybe even this season).

Pretty lopsided at first and second glance, and you are peddling to the wrong team. You are looking for teams that will be contending for the Cup THIS year.

Only people/picks I would trade is

2nd round 09
Boyle
Calder
Armstrong
Ernsberg (I would be fine trading him)
Moller
Future Considerations

Obviouslly any team in the nhl could use Gaborik and I definitely wish he comes to LA but we don't "need" him as a piece of our puzzle. We have good offense now and more up and coming. I wouldn't want to lose a top prospect of ours nor give up Frolov who is young as well and puts up top points. So why give up Frolov and top prospects for someone who puts up a few more points then Frolov but the same age and Frolov is less injury prone.

Min is going to be in a spot where they will have to either settle for Boyle, a 2nd rounder and Calder as a good offer soon (just an example of a mediocre deal which other teams will do as well) because with him already hurt this year and not really many teams have the cap space for him, and those that do (LA Kings) aren't looking at the playoffs this year anyways and can just go after him in the off season if Gaborik wants to play here and we give up nothing.

I know it sucks if you are a Min fan because Gaborik is an elite player but they won't get a top deal for him unfortunately. If you trade him at deadline you probably will get a 1st round pick and maybe 1 or 2 propects I hate to say.

too much imo.

i doubt you'll see hickey involved in any trade.frolov's contract is way too good to trade him away as well.

for fun:
frolov, lewis, harrold

for

gaborik+a late round pick.

I'd do:

2nd round 09
Lewis
Boyle

for

Gaborik

Minnesota wouldn't like it but when it gets down to the wire of something or nothing, then this isn't a bad deal.

Bit much for an impending UFA. LA will take it chances and keep it prospects and attempt to sign Gaborik in the offseason.

Or we can wait for Gaborik to be a FA and give up nobody. I would not give up Frolov alone unless he is signing a long term deal with kings right after trade.

Read the post first. I clearly state that this trade will only work if gaborik signs a long term deal. Also the Kings are not only getting Gaborik, But also a Blue chipper goaltending prospect, who is already somewhat proven at the NHL level.

With a decent goalie, this is a team that will be ready to compete as soon as this year. Their defense may be a bit suspect, and young, but the highly powerful offence (and good goaltending) would make up for this.

Personally I'm not a fan of either team but i think this deal favours LA.

I, for some reason don't think he will make it to free agency. Whoever trades for him will likely have a contract extension worked out for him during the trade negotiations. So if you want him your gonna have to give up something for him.

If you dont know anything about the team, dont post trades. you ever hear of Jonathan Bernier, Jeff Zatkoff, Jon Quick? All quality goaltending prospects.

If the Wild are more than likely going to lose him for nothing, then Frolov alone should be enough when you take into consideration their respective contracts.

Gaborik has only topped Frolov's best point total one time and his best goal total twice. He has a great contract right now and an extension would not cost near what Gaborik would command.

I'm not a Kings fan looking at this through homer glasses. Frolov is a young, established talent with a good contract while Gaborik is a guy that the Wild will lose for nothing if he isn't traded before the deadline.

You're looking at a Hossa-like return most likely. While first rounders and potential are nice, I'd love to get a guy like Frolov in return for Gaborik if I was a Wild fan.

The only blue chipper goalie prospect out of those three is Bernier... None of them have proven anything at the NHL level. So what are you gonna do sit and wait for 3 more years til one of these goalies are maybe ready to go? Or go for the guy thats proven at the NHL level.

Boyle, Ersberg, Lewis + 2nd + 3rd for Gaborik

No way we are gonna give up Fro or Brown or any other core players of our team while we in rebuild mode.

I don't see many of these proposals coming from Wild fans.

And as for people posting then, what's the harm? Let's have some fun with this first.

if minnisota is to trade gaborik to the kings, they have to take some salary back because the kings want to stay near the minimum this year.

Calder would have to be involved as a throw in. We don't need goaltending unless you're taking Labarbera from us.
