Quiet first five minutes then Langkow gets his stick up, and takes a four minute double minor, and with 2:58 left on the Double, Lombardi takes 2 for tripping making it a full 2 minute 5 on 3 for the Predators. The Flames again killed off the 2 man advantage with only 2 shots let on net during the 2 man advantage and only 8 shots the entire penalty kill. Mobile sticks and smart play led to yet another successful kill.

Also it needs to be pointed out that the best Nashville scoring chance came off of the first FLAMES PP. Seriously boys, GET YOUR FECAL MATTER SORTED OUT!!!!! Only thanks to the brilliance of Kipper and his goalposts did that not become a Shorthanded goal for the Predators. Not only is the Powerplay unit ineffective but then you have players taking stupid penalties while on the PP. Yes Conroy, I'm looking at you.

A very slow start to the game, not alot of hits, not alot of passion, no heart whatsoever. The Flames were VERY lucky to get out of that period with a scoreless tie. Two posts call testament to the fact it could easily have been 2-0 at the end of the first.

Chubby Nashville play-by-play guy:

There are 29 other teams that would love to have Jordin Tootoo in their line-up. Believe me.

Conroy with another dumb penalty and Lombardi hurt. Great period so far.

Nice of Kipper to leave the net before Arnott shoots.

That was Crisp? I can't tell them apart. They sound exactly the same and all they do is exchange lame jokes

He should be stripped of his ring for saying something like that.

This sucks, looks like we need a huge 3rd period, or we're gonna lose another western conference matchup. We've given everyone points that we faced. Was the Colorado win in ot, or regulation. Can't remember.
But every other western conference game we've played we've given points.

Story of the Second period? Penalty after penalty, and all of them boneheaded moves on the Flames part. Combine that with horrific Defensive zone coverage (sound familiar?) and is it any wonder it's 3-1 preds at the end of the second? I thought not. Seriously Keenan, when are you going to address this?

Really where is the heart, the hard work ethic, the team sprit? Yes yes, it's still only October, but is it really too much to ask for a serious effort every game? From everyone, not just Iggy and Lombardi? Speaking of Lombardi, that hit from Arnott seems to have done some serious damage and here's hoping he isn't too seriously injured.

And lastly I hate to ***** about this AGAIN, but what is with the lack of consistency in the officiating.? That high stick in the first period, tho weak I agreed should be called. It is the rules. But why is it that when a stick slammed into Bertuzzi's kisser and the ref was looking RIGHT AT THE PLAY, nothing gets called?

Bah. Horrible period. Here's hoping for a magnificent third.

I think this Keenan experiment is done. Get rid of him, he can't teach discipline.
He juggles lines way too much. If he keeps this up, Cammalleri won't re-sign here, and other free agents won't want to come and play here.
The team just is not playing for Keenan, whether it's his old school coaching or what it is, this team does not respond.
To start a 3rd period down 2 goals and take 3 consecutive penalties. That tells me no discipline whatsoever. The coach is not teaching discipline.
I don't care if the refs are calling weak penalties. They're still being called. You sit in the box, you're gonna lose.
Bye Keenan, good luck wherever you end up, cuz you don't belong here anymore.
