2009 NHL Trade Deadline Thread
Here's a thread to populate with all the news about today's NHL Trade Deadline. The deadline is at 3pm today.
Can't wait to see what happens. As always, all Panther moves can have their own thread. If anything happens with Bouwmeester, please let's try to keep it to one thread (either way I expect the 2nd Bouw thread to get locked by tomorrow).
NHL Network will be covering this for those in the states.

Pierre McGuire was saying how JM won't budge with JayBo unless he gets the 4 component package he wants.
I'm guessing it's something along the lines of top 6 forward, depth defender, prospect, pick
So from Philly, Lupul, Carle/Jones, JVR/Giroux, pick is probably what JM wants and I don't blame him for having the price that steep.

They say that every year and there's been 25 deals the last couple.

I sorta expect more moves than the average year.
As the TSN guys are explaining, many buyers have to sell in order to make cap room. That is either a recipe to not do much, or to do more than one might expect.

Not to mention, so many teams are so close to a playoff spot that they're all going to be looking for the move to put them over the top.

Just heard that on TSN as well. Good move for Cbus. Ottawa also gets a 2nd round pick.

Actually that should be a win-win for both teams.
There's a rumor that Philly is talking about going after Morris and Bryz instead of Bouwmeester now that will be easier for them to make.

Oh, OK. I think that's a good deal for both teams, LeClaire's a very solid goalie...when healthy. He and Auld
should be a solid tandem going forward.

Yeah, I figured they'd at least be in the mix, if not getting him. Would be a good fit for Olli, imo.

I agree with you. Joker would fit in well rejoining Keenan.

Tellqvist to Buffalo for a 4th. Sounds like Phoenix is making room for a goalie.

Jokinen to Calgary for Prust, Lombardi and a 1st.
Keenan gets to continue his Jokinen man love.

I gotta say Calgary getting Jokinen forces Vancouver's hand to make a move.

Not surprised Olli went there.
Olli for Lombardi, Prust, and a first.
Nice that he can play so lazily and get onto a playoff bound team.

VERY unlikely Mogo .. Barring a monumental collapse, Olli will taste playoff hockey for the first time in his NHL career.

Very interesting! They just said that IF Bouw is traded, then it would create a possibility of Derek Morris to Florida to backfill ..

Perhaps meaning we're getting a better forward?
