The REAL reason we have been sucking...

Tyler Kennedy. Anyone else notice since we lost manbearpig we have been HORRIBLE. Someone should post our record after kennedy got injured. Just ugly. Staal's line probably has 1 goal since he left... he has proven he is far more valuable than we all thought. We needhim back!

Tough to single out one downward turning point. As it has been accumulative. We lost TK, Gil, MAF and Ziggy for long stretches and nearly the same time. That was on top of Gonchar and Whitney injuries.

Our problems have been multi-faceted. We were a flawed team (as almost all NHL team are) before the injuries. With the injuries we were decimated.

He's only been back a couple games hasn't he? Pigpen needs time to find his game, then he will carry the team on his back with shear pig-will, and bear-power?

We are 1-6-0 since Ryan Whitney returned to the lineup.

Just saying.

lol I'm obviously joking since he barely played and was garbage but seriously look at the numbers.... Pens are 8-13-2 since the transaction happened... his debut was the end of their 6 game winning streak.

Once again, I am not trying to make a case that we shouldn't have made the deal whatsoever. It was def a great trade by Shero but just saying its weird.

Come to think of it, i don't think we've won a game since i started posting again on a regular basis. Oh God, the guilt weighs so heavily on my burdened mind. I'll leave, ashamed and oh so quiet ...

If this is really the case, you have just proven the point the Sidney Crosby is EXTREMELY overated..... Personally i dont believe the Pens suck because TK has been out

This is such an offensively gifted team that it is difficult to get the players to think defense first but that's what has to be done. The only way out of a slump is to simplify your game but that has to be done on a team wide basis.

People really need to get off the TFK bandwagon. He's a freakin 3rd liner for life people. He's not gonna be anything more. His value right now is a 3-4th round pick and that's what it'll always be. We have a boatload of 3rd liners that's why we suck right now.

On March 10, 2003 Ian Moran's contract with WD-40 was permanently canceled...

The next day he was traded to the Bruins...

I suspect this has something to do with the Pens recent slump...

Think about it.

Kennedy's produced at about a 52 point pace since joining the big team last year (just as an example, that's more than Malone has ever scored in a season). And that's almost 100% on the third line with only a few stints on the PP.

So I wouldn't rule out top 6 duty as a complentary player.

Ok at best he's a fringe 2nd line winger. The problem with TFK is he'll always be hurt..he's too small to play this hardcore style. Yes he is on a 52 point pace but he doesn't have the pure skill to achieve it on his own. Don't get it wrong I do like how he plays but if he plays with Sid and Geno he should have the opportunity to get 40-50 points a year.

Last year 49 wingers had more than 52 points - that's 1.63 wingers per team. So stats-wise, he provides at least 2nd line production on every team in the league as a far from finished product.

I'm just sayin'.

The reason everyone is so high on him is because, even being a fringe 2nd line winger, he's still the best we've got right now. Putting him on Sid's wing may not be the same as putting Kurri on Gretzky's, but it's a way better option than anything else we have, so it's not hard to see why people are genuinely excited that Therrien finally tried it.

Throw a few more losses onto the pile and you get the current numbers.
