Don't look now...

...but the Kings are tied for last in the Western Conference.

...they're also 2 points out of 4th.

I thought you meant tied for the last playoff spot and in your excitement left out a few words. After looking at the standings it really is tied for last in the conference. I'm surprised to see every team in the west has at least 3 wins already. Tied with the Ducks and one point behind Dallas with 2 games in hand on both.

I think it's worth noting that the Kings have allowed 31 shots total in the past two games...against two of the better offensive teams in the league, I might add.

I don't expect St. Louis to play like that next time they play the Kings. It'll be a much different game.

Awesome game! GREAT performance by everybody. The defense played sooooo great and LaBarbera as well (shutout!!!!).

Quincey is just an amazing pick up.

Murray is a smart coach, he knows what he's doing for sure!

O'Sullivan and Brown both had great games again.

I love the Kings!
Our penalty kill is great!

GO KINGS GO!!!!

Now it's time to go to bed...went to bed at around 23:00 PM woke up at 2:30 AM to watch the game and now it's 7:10 AM...Well worth it

that's as good a game as I've seen the Kings play in a LONG time. Excellent.

I have to agree. That was, dare I say, Red Wing-like tonight by the Kings. A 15 save shutout. That sounds a lot like what Detroit does.

The Kings didn't just stand up at their own blue line; they stood up at the red line. St. Louis couldn't get anything going through the neutral zone.

This team still has a lot to learn, but whatever Murray is saying, they seem to be listening.

That was a professional road victory, only way I can describe it. And thats awesome, because we haven't had many of those the past few years.

Onto Nashville.

I think you're out to lunch here. Brown played one of his better games of the season and Kopitar was just meh again. Not that I'm worried about Kopi at all, he's just struggling big time right now. He'll put it together though and the team will just be that much stronger.

Wow. This team can make the playoffs.

Way early in the season, I know, but they rocked tonight.

Really liked to see them sticking up for each other. Haven't had that in years.

I can't wait for Mondays game. It will a good gauge to see how they match up with the ****-offs from Detroit.

Did I hear the God of all commentators, Bob Miller, say it was going to be another rink-side view game? Who's the brains behind this ****?

This the 2nd time the Kings have been at $2.50 to win a game this year at the TAB and i've put 20 bucks on them to win. coming up trumps both times.

I'm so proud of this team right now. Nice to see Simmonds dropping the gloves. and the pk is still invicible..

Hard to find anything but positives in that game.

Harpo's PK -- gotta love that guy.

KQ is a stud and what was the name of the defenseman who sat tonight?

Kopitar is squeezing the stick. He needs to relax and may need a real winger besides Brownie to help free him up.

I love OD, but leave the fighting to the guys who do it best. Probably good advice for Richardson too.

Labs played well, but due to a huge defensive cotainment by the guys in front of him, didint have toplay great to get the shutout. The first or maybe second save of the game he let squeak through him, just wide, but everyhting else looked relatively easy, all things Labs considered.

Great Game. Ouch, but we're tied for last place in the conference. Monday should be fun to watch

Kopitar needs to shoot more and I would like to see him go to the front of the goal after he goes wide and behind the net. Just my 2 cents.

But besides that, some good stats from him:

EV, PP, SH, TOI
16:12, 04:47, 02:40, 23:39

Faceoffs: 15 out of 22 ,68%

Watching the game a 2nd time right now.
A great road win for this team. Great that we can get a lead early and hold it. Great that we can have a sound 2nd period. Great to keep the PK streak alive and the opponents shots down. GREAT!

I am liking KQ(going to start calling ALL-IN's on this poker hand) more and more. He is quite solid and only looking better as the games go on. congrats on his first kings goal.

Brown's strip on tkachuk to set up stoll was awesome, he checked him, dipsy-doodled around him and took it to the net. Nice slap shot goal too. wow. Opponents better watch out if brown starts finishing...i thought he lacked that ability the first few games.

I think O'Sullivan by far has been the most offensively skilled forward to date on this team.

Moller BETTER stay up, he's really making a positive impact with the squad.

Kopitar WAS meh again.

The thing i got from this game mostly was how good our coach is. People question his move to start labs this game and he gets a shutout. He sticks w/ the lines even though everyone here seems to be criticizing them, and they play a 4 line SOUND game all around. Calder gets playing time on the 1st line and helps set up the GWG. for now TERRY MURRAY gets the benefit of the doubt with whatever decisions he makes. i like our coach a lot.

But yes.. this was a great game.

As bad as they did in their fights, I don't mind seeing O'Donnell or Richardson throw down. OD is an old man taking on a tough tough kid in Janssen, he landed a bomb at the very beginning of the fight but the jersey jabs got to him. Richardson is an obvious non-fighter who squared off with Danny Hinote. Hinote at one time was the heir apparent to guys like Lappy for the middleweight belt, and Richardson had no problem coming into that scrum and latching on to him. It just goes to show how much these guys are willing to stick up for one another compared to previous years.
