Ference talks Returning to play in Alberta

Bruins fan here with some comments that Ference made about Alberta fans that I thought you might like:

'Ference notched his fourth assist of the season when he combined with defenseman Dennis Wideman on Lucics second goal vs. the Thrashers. Like Lucic, Ference is anxious to perform in his hometown against the Oilers. Hes also looking forward to clashing with the few remaining friends he has on the Flames.

Im really excited, I get to play in front of a lot of family and friends and get to play against some familiar foes and some old teammates, Ference said. Its going to be fun, its a fun road trip whether you have played in Alberta before or (you are) from there.

Based on his experiences ascending the ranks to the NHL, Ference believes there is a different hockey culture in the vast expanse of western Canada than he has seen in the eastern provinces and in the Northeast here. Ference thinks the Bruins newcomers are in for a treat playing in the Canadian outback.

Im excited for the young guys who have never played there before, he said. Thats about as pure hockey as you are going to get. The western Canadian fans love the sport. They are not as cynical as some of the Eastern fans. They just really love their teams, love their sport and get excited. Its a great place to play and a lot of fun.

Here's the complete article, Cheers!

Good read, thanks for posting it.

It will be nice to see Ference at the 'Dome again, as well as Yelle. Nothing but respect for those guys.

^Is Chuck playing? Thought he was hurt again?

Good read, Bruin tickets were a must when they came on Sale and I am very happy to be going this Thursday.

He's making the road trip with the team and practiced this weekend. If anything, expect his return to be against Calgary.

Cheers!

He looked good against the Oil last night in the win and I wonder if him, Kobasew and Iginla have convinced Lucic and Phaneuf to drop them Thu!!

Hopefully this is a Flames win... else I end up rockin' a B jersey on Friday.

I'd kill to have 21 back.
