What is with the glass now a days, it seems they're breaking everyday now.

staples center's glass this year just sucks. a break every game yet I don't remember one hit that actually shattered the glass, all the ones i can remember the glass either fell out of the holster or broke in big pieces

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the glass should not be breaking like that. Isn't it designed to shatter?

This. I'm pretty sure every Kings home game has had glass problems so far. I don't know what the hell they changed, but they need to change it back ASAP.

That's a hell of a lot more dangerous compared to the glass shattering.

I am trying to find the video of a recent hit where the glass shattered but, don't even remember the game. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

This one looked pretty dangerous. I remember watching the Lucic one and it just shattered in little pebbles. These came out in half almost. Looks like Kop could have easily cut his face on the edge.

That's dangerous, why don't they use hardened glass?

I gotta agree. As a Kings fan, I'd be pretty embarrased if someone got seriously injured from the glass breaking like it has at Staples Center. I'm not sure why they decided to go with that type of glass which is obviously hazardous. This has happened at least 3 or 4 times this season, and cost Kopitar a 10 minute misconduct! (For breaking that cheap glass with his stick).

Looked to me like the piece of glass had one of the camera holes in it. That probably contributed to the pane breaking so easily.

Earlier this season in a Sharks/Kings game that I believe was down in LA, Kopitar smashed his stick against the glass while skating back to the bench after a frustrating shift and broke a pane of glass. Got himself a 10 minute misconduct.

Would've thought it would be the other way around. They need to fix this problem in LA right away.

Or worse, it could cut off a limb of a fan. Broken glass falling in large shards can easily dismember someone in the blink of an eye.

WTF is wrong with that glass? It should be designed to shatter in pieces small enough not to hurt anyone. Dodged a bullet there.

It's like it is made out of candy glass.

WTF, it looks like the glass dividers/brackets are made of see trough plastic!? Maybe it's not strong enough to hold the plexi glass in place?

I think all the arenas are like that. With Staples this year its been the glass breaking into large pieces instead of shattering like safety glass.
