Aaaaaaaaaand that's it for the 2nd round. Hitmen come through with the sweep and make short work of the Hurricanes, winning 6-0 tonight in Lethbridge to take Game 4 and win the series 4-0, moving on to the Eastern Conference Final.
Goals tonight from Sonne, Broda, Plante, Foucault, Kozun and Schultz.

It'll definetly be a good series and should be a lot closer for both teams who have gone 8-0 in these playoffs. Also a chance to see Aulie who has been awesome for Brandon (+17 in 8 games). Might just have to come down for a game or two.
Joel Broda is not ranked in the THN future watch for Washington's prospects. Yet he has really lit up the WHL. Can anyone tell me why? I assume he lacks quickness or is just an average skater. What is his NHL potential?
The Atlanta Thrashers have signed defenseman Paul Postma, the teamís seventh-round choice (205th overall) in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft, according to Executive Vice President and General Manager Don Waddell. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

No idea. I don't understand why he wouldn't be. I didn't watch him play much when he was in Moose Jaw, but speaking from his time in Calgary, he's been just awesome. I can't really think of anything to knock on his game.
Damn quite a lopsided game. Thought this series would be closer. I expect a better Brandon team on Sunday though.
Hayes(shoutout to a fellow sherwood parki native) is a good goalie, but definetly the weakness of that team and it seems like Calgary got on him tonight with 5 goals on 15 shots. If Brandon has any shot at upsetting the Hitmen he'll need to be better.
Game 3 tonight in Brandon, and the Hitmen win 4-3 in OT, taking a 3-0 series lead. Not a very good game for the Hitmen tonight. Way too many turn-overs for the Hitmen in this game. Jones kept them in and gave them a chance to win.
Goals from Sonne, Foucault (2) and Schultz.
Foucault is a stud. The guy has been clutch in the post-season.
Wow the Hitmen just keep rolling. Really surprised Brandon hasn't taken a game yet. I thought they would take it to atleast 6 games, but they must be pretty discouraged after tonight's loss. Sounds like it was a good effort from them, but they still couldn't pull it off.
Here's hoping the Hitmen finish this series off tonight, so they can get some extra time to rest their players for the Finals. Which ever team the Hitmen will face in the Finals will likely be beaten up and tired from what I expect will be a 7 game series, so it will benefit the Hitmen to sweep this series for the rest.
Minnesota Wild have signed Carson McMillan to entry-level contract.
Minnesota Wild Acting General Manager Tom Lynn today announced the club has signed right wing Carson McMillan to an entry-level contract. McMillan, 20, recorded career-highs with 31 goals, 41 assists, 72 points and 93 penalty minutes (PIM) in 68 games during his fourth season with the Calgary Hitmen of the WHL in 2008-09.
Goals in three consecutive games for Sonne? Can anyone tell me how he's looked since coming back from injury.
Sonne's looked great since coming back from injury, like he never missed a beat. In his first game back, Lowry had him centering the fourth line to ease him back in, and he scored a goal (maybe even two, I can't remember).

I get a big kick out of hearing the name Dave Lowry as a long time Blues fan. If memory serves Lowry-Bassen-Rich Sutter was our "Green Beret" line. This of course was in the days when the Blues were a team full of johnny hustles.
Does Sonne play 1st/2nd PK ?
How physical is he really ?
How do you think he would handle decreased ice time and a lesser role as a rookie in either the AHL or NHL ?
What role do you see him in at the NHL level ?
These are some questions I've been kicking around and I'd really like your opinion.Thanks.
