The Flyers are capable of blowing out almost any team in the league. When Briere is healthy, they can roll 3 scoring lines, and a 4th of Nodl-Metro-Downie that could also score a couple goals.

The Flyers were able to give a young dmen significant minutes, and live with his mistakes, in 06-07. The Thrashers won their division that year, and he likely would not have been afforded the same opportunities to develop that he received in Philly. It's really not as bad of a trade as people seem to make it out to be.

Trading Zhitnik for Meyers and a 3rd(?) is far worse than dealing Coburn for Zhitnik in the midst of a playoff run.

Up until the Ilya turnover and SHG with 15 seconds left in the 2nd it was anyones game. One of Philly's goals was off a bad bounce turnover in their own end, and the other was a flukey play where the Thrashers D blocks a pass and in lands squarely on Knubles stick behind Lehtonen(his other goal was flukey as well)

Ilya gets the two unsportsmanlikes...and it is a 5-0 game.

This is the 1st time all season the Thrashers have lost by more than 2 goals, and the other two times they were within 1 and gave up EN goals.

Sure a bad night for the Thrashers, but they have been playing much better than many here are giving them credit for....and the game was truly not as lopsided as the score.

7-0 is not anyone's game. Flyers are by far a better team. Nice try though.

I think you are over rating Zhitnik. When we had him he was on the end of his career. He wasn't even the best defenseman on the terrible team that was the 06-07 flyers.

Not at all. He was still a top 4 dman when he played for the Flyers, and played like a top 2 dman when he got to Atlanta at the deadline. I have no explanation for his 07-08 campaign. Zhitnik went from good to god awful in one season.
