A Google search seems to indicate it's a quote from It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia.

Jeez, all of seven games in & he's vintage.

That's almost as bad as ESPN calling highly touted NASCAR rookie Joey Logano "The Michael Jordan of NASCAR" despite having just one race under his belt in the Nationwide Series. To put that in perspective, that's like calling an 18-year old prospect Gretzky after his first game in the AHL.

Because Stamkos didn't exist before the NHL.

I actually think Stamkos might be a little too old for Pierre.

Yeah it's not like this was Stamkos' 7th hockey game ever. He did play in other leagues, you know. I don't think the quote is inappropriate at all.

Oh ya, I hate it when a commentator who is both knowledgeable and entertaining makes an accurate quote about a player.

That's certainly an abuse of the word "vintage."

He's going to claim that the 30 detroit fans that show up in Anaheim tonight mean that the stadium is split evenly between Anaheim and Detroit.

Wow. Pierre McGuire said something stupid? I'm shocked.

Sure but I doubt that his other 3 or so years could attribute to vintage status.

Thanks for the update, though.

Its a commonly used expression, meaning that the person has always done it.

Its not like Pierre McGuire is the first person to ever say this.

Jesus Christ some of you are ridiculous.

Well I remember reading a Sports Illustrated article about Tavares when he was 14 so they got that one right and everyone knew about Crosby since he was 14.
