Atlanta: What a disaster

Sink this ship....why not just contract them?

What a horrible franchise. This has nothing to do with their fans, I actually feel really bad for them and admire their support, but this franchise reminds me of the Vancouver Grizzlies; what a disaster.

How does Waddell still have a job? A fetus could do a better job.

I feel bad for the few diehard Thrashers' fans out there. At this rate it's only a matter of time before Kovy wants out and after that, who knows what will happen with this franchise.

It's almost a guarantee that Kovalchuk doesn't re-sign there, why would he want to?

Terrible game for Thrashers. If I was a thrashers fan I would've been really disappointed seeing my team lose 7-0.

I agree. I think it's time that Atl puts out some serious feelers out there to see what kind of huge return they could get for Kovalchuk. Why wait till they have to give him away. Let other clubs know they would be willing to let him go for the right price starting today.Iknow Atl fans don't want to hear this but in the long run it just might help.

I have to agree with this. Even Starbucks had the stones to close down a couple of shops that weren't working out.

For what? So the prospects they land in return for Kovy can be poorly developed and/or mismanaged? The whole organization needs a makeover from top to bottom.

10 years.

Two first overall picks.
Two second overall picks.
A third overall pick.
8 picks in the top 12.

A single season of more wins than losses.

No playoff wins.

Traded Coburn for Zhitnik.

Traded a 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and checker for 2 months of Tkachuk.

Thrashers fans, you have my respect - it takes courage to go down with the ship.

How many years does Kovalchuk have left on his contract?

That was a truly terrible effort. Kovalchuk didn't look like he was trying, and I don't see that franchise going anywhere but down for a long time.

Bettman will hand them Tavares or Hedman to keep them afloat.

Thrashers are attatched to the Hawks, it's not as easy as "just shut them down." Biggest problem, imo, with that team is that they won't get rid of Waddell. Insane that he's still got a job there, in any capacity.

But, just because they lost 7-0, is no reason to just "fold the franchise." I mean, teams lose like that often enough. I get your point, but the two things don't coincide.

versus picked a good one for their grand "exclusive" huh?

waddell has pictures of someone with something. it's the only thing that makes sense, honestly. i can't think of one good thing he has done for that franchise.

about all atlanta's got going for it is that crazy dude who chugs the beer. and...uhm...yeah, that's all i got.

It's astonishing that Waddell still has a job. The only GM the franchise has ever known needs to be fired now. He should have been fired after missing the playoffs last year.

Have you even watched the Thrashers play before tonight? They have been in every game they played before tonights game.

I sure think DW should have been fired years ago....however the Thrashers have been a much improved team so far this season...until tonight at least.

That I have unfortunately. You can still be 'in every game' and go 0-82. The fact is they are a terrible team.

No, they likely didn't. Atlanta has played better than I thought would this year, but didn't play at all like they had previously tonight.

Tonight's score has nothing to do with whether the team should be contracted or not.

Waddell needs to be out of the NHL. I just don't understand it.

The NHL deserves better, the fans deserve better, the players deserve better and John Anderson sure as hell deserves better.

As a Thrashers fan, I have seen far worse on ice products.

The fact is, you are making a judgement based on one game.
