I would call Ott better defensively as well. He's a pretty regular PKer/last-minute guy.

Miettinen is a better scorer than Ott, there is no doubt. But it's hard to compare them as hockey players because they bring such different things, and when you take their careers as a whole (i.e., Miettinen won't score at just under a goal a game all year), they're both pretty average at what they do.

good hard forecheck by Crombeen to draw the call, debatable as it was.

Make up call for the no call against the piledriver on Ott when he was in front of the net maybe?

Niskanen just loves to score against Minnesota.

Niskanen, the man, the legend.

Modano really got away with one there in the neutral zone before that.

Just as I was about to write about how Niskanen was struggling again defensively this game, he goes and scored a goal.

He's still struggling some defensively (he keeps getting the corner turned on him), but it's nice to see him pot one, especially against Minnesota.

I mean, I'm an Ott fan too. I have an Ott jersey t-shirt thing. I just like Miettinen more.

I wish the Wild could just skip these games at AAC. This place has always been a curse for Minnesota. We were the perfect tonic for the Stars tonight.

well Dallas was bound to have a strong game (2 periods still but we're heading that way) at some point this season..

I mean we're scoring 5 goals and losing, doesn't take a huge improvement in play to turn that into scoring 5 goals and winning

I understand playing Brunnstrom on the 4th line because he needs to learn to remember to play defense, but for christ sakes Brunnstrom has scored more goals than any Star player. He goes to the net more than any other Stars player. His goals aren't pushing a pile of players into the net.

Give me a break.

This was the perfect setup for a Dallas win. The Stars are still a team I like, but just not tonight. So frustrating to lose badly down there. I think it's been 5 years since the Wild won at AAC.

good period Stars, it's refreshing to see the team play like they did last season.
