Who is the worst King ever?

Toss up for me, Jason Blake or Ron Duguay. Jamie Storr also in the mix.

Is games played with the team a factor? If not, Anson Carter x1000.

Remember how we were heading for a 6-7th place finish when we picked Carter up at the deadline, then proceeded to lose 10 straight games I think it was and finish 9th or 10th? That was fun... and Carter's fault far as I'm concerned (I know it's a touch irrational but we played well before Carter, picked up Carter, and immediately lost a ton of games pathetically starting with his first game in a Kings sweater... coincidence?... I think not)

Don't fool yourself...the Kings were headed for collapse before they picked up Carter. And, Andy Murray was the culprit. In each of his last three years behind the bench, the Kings folded like oragami down the stretch.

As for the worst player, I don't know. But I will throw John Tripp's name out for consideration.

Roenick

Edit: I figured I should give some indication as to why my choice would be Roenick. Looking at most of the other players being mentioned they were either injured or lacked the necessary skills to perform well at the NHL level. Roenick is the only player I can think of that had a tremendous skillset but chose to come to the team out of shape and subsequently blamed the equipment manager for his lack of production. He came in and basically stole money from the organization because he was angry about the lockout, he even admitted to this. Putz!

He was never literally the worst player we had, but I think Craig Johnson deserves some sort of lifetime achievement award here.

Clouts, Storr, Blue Line, Cechmanek.... I'm detecting a theme.

(btw: our current goaltender isnt really helping to buck the trend)

I was pretty pi$$ed at Carter, too, until I heard him interviewed by Darryl Evans in (IIRC) 2005, when Carter was playing with Vancouver. Carter flat-out stated that he had 2 pulped shoulders and a hernia at the time of the trade, and that the Kings' medical staff KNEW this. If true, that actually makes me more mad at Dave Taylor (who DID seem to have a predilection for acquiring damaged goods...Cliff Ronning, anyone?) than Carter himself.

My nomination (recent "history" only): Derek Bekar. *UGH*

Never heard that before. Thanks for the info. I still hate Carter for several reasons but yes, that trade spelled the end of Dave Taylor to me, moreso now knowing he was badly injured at the time.

Dan Cloutier. He wasn't even AHL quality.

Grant Fuhr was also pretty terrible as a King.
