some thoughts:
Kopitar better get his **** together, hit the post, but thats about it tonight

Simmonds is not an NHL calibre player yet

Harrold: OK on the PP, useless everywhere else

Moller: borderline NHL player, should be sent back to juniors

Frolov: Learn to put the damn puck in the net

Labarbera: Nice, you can make some good saves at the beginning... now start doing that at perhaps any other time

Scoring a goal is a tad more critical I would think.

I think that ship has sailed....any goalie available right now would probably cost too much to acquire.

To be fair, the entire friggin' team was going through the motions tonight. I guess if I was getting paid millions of dollars and wasn't worried about any consequences for not playing up to my capacity, I'd half-ass it too.

*** ugly.

Bright spots - The 4th line played really good.

Crap - Everything else. The first line was ineffective. They didn't crash the net until the 3rd period.

Give some credit to the Canucks defense, they played a nearly perfect game. Luongo gave some fat rebounds, but there were always 2 or 3 guys there protecting it. They got their sticks in the lanes and knocked down or deflected an awful lot of passes tonight. Unlike our defense, who let players coast across the middle for deflections without even putting a body on them.

At least the Kings never gave up, I'll give them that. It looked like the effort was there all game, even if they didn't play well. Much better than that giving-up crap they pulled last year, at least it makes the losses easier to swallow.

I predict Ersberg in goal next game. Not so much because Labarbara played particularly poorly, but because the defense needs a wake-up call. They looked crappy to a man tonight.

Scoring a goal would be easier if not always having to play from behind..... I could be wrong, but the only game we've had the lead from the get go this year was the blues game. our 2 other games we've come from behind to win.

Hmm, I didn't see this at all. They looked like they were digging and skating hard all night.

Too many penalties. That, combined with the team being absolutely flat = suck.

The Kings have been giving up the 1st goal in nearly every game, and I think having their Captain pile up 4 minutes of penalties and then another penalty right off the bat was a huge buzzkill they never recovered from.

I don't know, i think Moller had a pretty good game. He had decent chances at the net, and was robbed.

Kopitar is struggling with being tag teamed. I think he is getting worn down by the end of the game. He just needs to struggle through and figure out a way to get himself open.

Agree to disagree. There were plenty of cases where some hustle was necessary to get to loose pucks and it wasn't there.

Yeah that double minor at the start of the game seemed to set the tone of the game, and they just couldn't get into a groove. I guess this is the part of the young struggling team needing some patience.

Hopefully they regroup for Calgary.

I've got some bad news; Calgary is actually playing well coming into this game, unlike Vancouver.

For comparison purposes.....

Through 9 games this season....

3 wins 5 losses 1 OT loss = 7 points

Through 9 games last season....

3 wins 6 losses = 6 points.

So at this point this team is pretty close to what last season's team was......a team looking to get a top 5 pick.

Yeah i've been watching Calgary. They are looking good, but the Kings are a freaky little team. Sometimes we play better against the better teams.
