Sorry if this sounds stupid but I'm really not a computer guy at all - are you saying that some sort of virus is responsible for the page freezing up ????

I'm not at you're computer, so I don't know.... but if it is site specific, it is likely spyware/adware from that site and/or its ads.
My suggestion is to get CCLEANER and install/run it. Clean your system and then use Firefox with ABP addon.
