Grebeshkov: Mild Concussion

Reported by the FSN Carolina announcers in the 3rd period. He took a hit along the boards by Ruutu that looked to knock his head back against the glass.

I'm thinking we'll see Peckham scratched before the Falcons game tonight.

That sucks, I've been super impressed by his play at both ends of the rink in this early season. I hope it's just a one week sort of deal.

That doesn't mean he can't play tomorrow if he had to.

He could also suffer more damage to his shoulder. Regardless, with Grebs out for the foreseeable future, I think we'll see Peckham called up.

I wouldn't mind sitting Grebs for a week regardless of how well he feels... precautionary. Please no Stoll situation again.

Losing your best defenseman (so far this year) is never a blessing in disguise.

Souray has definately been our best, followed by lubo/grebs

According to MacT in his post game interview, he's fine.

I'm not sure I'd agree with that interpretation. He said he's fine at the moment, but they'll watch to see how he feels throughout the night.

I would say Souray's been our best defenseman so far, not grebs.

Yeah I'm not convinced the term "fine" means he's of good health.

MacT did say Struddy would be good to go tomorrow though.

One thing that surprises me about Souray is he's pretty good at making outlet passes and rushing the puck up ice, which was supposed to be a big weakness for him.

If we could only get our PP going (we are scoring here and there but it's very shaky), I think he'd have about double the points he does now.

Yeah, that's the thing. He seems to have much better vision on the defensive side of things these days, making good decisions and passes out of the zone, but less on the PP--opposite of his big year in Montreal. Kind of odd...

That's because our PP sucks. He's not able to get his shot off from the positions where he can really score and Mac T does bizarro things like Souray scores with Penner in front of the net ... then Mac T never puts Penner back on the PP.

I guess we need a PP specialist/advisor. And, no, I'm not thinking Buchy.

Any concussion means an automatic 1 game suspension. Peckham is playing tonight in Springfield, his 2nd game in 2 days. If Studwick isn't ready to go expect Theo to get the call.

I agree with The Polak. You could throw Strudwick in the mix as well for the games he has played. Losing Grebs and putting in Peckham gives our D a lot more of a physical look.

Souray has been our best by a country mile.
