Carle has a good shot. He sure didn't use it on that one. Rubbish shot - still goes in. Can't complain about that

Edit: End of the game - Dogs win 4-0

Desharnais nearly got the period off to a good start, stealing the puck while short handed and almost scoring a goal, but he did draw a call.

Lehoux got hit in the near corner of the offensive zone and hurt, stayed down a while. Next time we play the Aeros, I hope to see Flinn, Stewart, White and anyone who can hit/fight dressed. A few liberties taken by the Aeros tonight. They played a good physical game for the most part, but those exceptions where they hurt Dogs players or did something dirty, should be remembered. I'm not saying chase them around next game and settle old scores, but if they try anything again, pound the snot out of them with Flinn leading the way. Let them know it won't be tolerated. Dogs did well responding tonight, but I don't want to see them responding after someone gets seriously hurt.

White had a good shift on the PK, winning a battle at the side of the net and clearing the puck down the ice. D'Ago had a breakaway with Lehoux behind him, but lost the puck. Go figure. Great speed by him as usual though to pull clear. Could have been another shorthanded goal but it just wasn't to be tonight. Dogs found themselves stuck in their own zone, struggling to clear it. A lot of battles on the boards, missed chances, questions about when they will be able to make the all important next change. Well, Chipchura, watched, waited, picked his moment, got the job done without any fuss. I love the way he is playing right now.

Dogs got a PP and D'Ago took a shot from the slot. Still not his night, he fired it high. Not long after, the puck is passed to Carle in the nearside faceoff circle as he drifts backwards. He winds up, swings, looks like he only catches a bit of the puck and it still beat the goalie, shortside to boot (I think). Carle from D'Agostini and Jancevski on the PP: 4-0

Stewart had a good wrister gloved. Henry gave the puck away in his own zone on the PK, DanJan blocked a cross crease pass by dropping to one knee, then cleared the puck. CD made a good stop on a shot but left a rebound out in front, Anderson was the first one to it and cleared the puck.

Dogs on the PP and the Russell - Chipchura - Stewart line gets some ice time. Stewie went to the front of the net, not sure what happened next but it was followed with a fight. Stewie grabbed on with his left hand, swinging his right and took the early advantage. You could see halfway through though that he was trying to grab on with his right. Once he did that, the fight was as good as over. When he has that left swinging, he looks a real good fighter. He won the first half of the fight. He dominated the second half.

Congratulations to Desjardins on his first AHL shutout. Not the most convincing performance by any stretch of the imagination, but he hung on in there, made some good saves, covered the low part of the net well when things got messy around his crease and his Dmen helped him out with a few rebounds. Well in CD

A player could have 12 goals and another could have 36 assists in a game....the real question is for whom? We're stuck with the guys we have. Unless Hamrlik is loss for a tomorrow....we still have Dandenault who Carbo openly admit he's an option on D....

i know.
I am aware of the situation.
Make some place for guys that are doing very well in Hamilton.
the team is'nt playing well now, would'nt not make a difference to have a Carle and D'Agostini over dandenault, Brisebois, Begin or Higgins

White with a goal 32 seconds in.

Henry destroys Keefe in a fight.

Good start

Edit: - didn't hear about Weber.

Edit 2: White with his 2nd one timer goal of the night, 4 minutes in

Has White played more on the wing than center?

I'm guessing:

Pacioretty - Maxwell - Glumac
White - Lehoux - D'Agostini

Is that somewhat correct?

Thanks Thief...

End of the 1st - Dogs lead the Rampage 3-1

Denis starts for the Dogs, Montoya for the Rampage, which is a good omen. I can't recall if I've ever seen a game when Montoya played well. If I have, I've forgotten it. I know the first 2 or 3 games I saw him, he got pulled. Dogs got off to a flyer tonight against him.

32 seconds in and White gives D'Agostini the puck coming out of the Dogs zone. D'Ago heads down the right wing as White drives down the middle. D'Ago makes the pass, White one times it home from around the hash marks. White from D'Agostini: 1-0

Max Pac made a very nice play on the boards in his own zone and his line were creating a nice little rush with some short range passes. It didn't develop though, as Henry decided to re-arrange Keefe with his fists. Henry had a slight edge to start with, but it looked as if Keefe took his own helmet off. After that, a flurry of right hands from Henry brought the fight to a sudden end. Easy decision to Henry.

The Dogs continued to beat up on the Rampage as White got his second goal of the game. Lehoux fed a pass to the front of the net from behind and White one timed that one home too. White from Lehoux: 2-0

Denis looked fairly sharp early on although wasn't tested too heavily. Played a good period apart from one rebound but couldn't do anything about the goal against. Stewart had a good shift until he took a penalty and while the Rampage had the PP, they worked a cross ice pass from circle to circle which was one timed by Denis. 2-1

The Rampage had a good chance shortly after to tie the game. Carle chose a bad time to step up along the boards and got beaten, leaving a lop-sided 2 on 1 from the Rampage left wing. Thankfully, they wasted the chance but that is the kind of play Carle needs to learn not to make.

At the other end, Chipchura had a shot bounce off Montoya and just wide of his post.

Wyman showed some of his slickness with the puck in the Dogs zone, using a nice little pivot with the puck to buy himself more time and space to make a pass. Very nicely done by the guy, little bit of flair from him on that one.

The heavyweights then went at it, Flinn and Lessard trading short range punches in quick succession. No winner in this one, for each punch thrown, there seemed to be a punch taken. The fight ended with both guys wrestling each other to the floor.

Domination continued thanks to a great shift by the Chipchura line with Carle and Henry I think on the points. They kept the puck in the Rampage zone for about a minute, maybe more, working it around, taking shots and just controlling the play completely.

The Dogs got the 2 goal lead back after D'Agostini backchecked well to be first to a loose puck. Sadly (or so it seemed), he flung it down the ice and forced Lehoux to chase it, having to beat out the icing call. Once he did, White took over and fed a pass from down low to D'Agostini in the LW faceoff circle. He controlled it. He flexed his stick for the wrist shot. He put it in the far top corner like it was a simple shot. Beautiful goal. Hard work, teamwork and a great shot. D'Agostini from White and Lehoux: 3-1

2nd period coming up...

Thanks for the report.

They added an assist on the first White goal for Lahoux.

Anyone watching the Leafs/Thrashers game? Getting chippy...Ian White fought Kovalchuk. Funny stuff. Grabovski just got smoked. And now Blake - Lots of good hits in this game.

Derek interviews Weber during the 2nd intermission for those who are interested. Couple of minutes away.

End of the 2nd period - Dogs lead 3-2

Much closer this period, Dogs weren't going for the kill and they forgot how to take good scoring chances. Some things are a constant though: Montoya got pulled. Was there a vbookie for that? Maybe I'm missing a trick here.

Lehoux started well with a fancy move to beat a Dman wide on the left before backhanding a shot just wide of the near side top corner. The Dogs then got lucky as a hard shot hit the boards behind Denis and the puck bounced through his crease behind him. All good fortune seemed used up seconds later though, as a shot from the left wing faceoff dot somehow got through Denis. He has challenged the shooter a lot at times tonight, but looks a little edgy when moving back to his net. 3-2

Denis then almost got beat again, somehow making an easy save look very complex aas the puck nearly went underneath him as he tried kicking his pads out.

Then the standard was set by the Dogs for most of the period. On the PP, Patches made a nice pass to Glumac around the hash marks but he shot high. Lehoux then had a clear breakaway but shot high and/or wide. Later on, Russell and Trotter worked a passing play that led to a short pass in front to Chipchura but he couldn't control the puck.

Elsewhere, D'Agostini had another nice backcheck, this time to break up a 2 on 1. Patches had some more good play along the boards. He isn't making super impressive plays tonight, but he is doing what he needs to do, he is making himself a factor and he is playing his best hockey for a little while. He may not have the stats, but he is having an impact on his shifts.

The Dogs dodged a bullet as one Rampage forward used some slick moves to deke a couple of Dogs in the defensive zone and fed a pass through a crowded crease that somehow missed everything and everyone around the net and went out the far side.

White had some good hits late on but the shift ended on a sour note as he gave the puck away in his own zone, Denis had to bail him out with a sprawling save. And on one of the final shifts, Carle was having words with someone. As the pack broke, Chip skated in a bumped someone, trying to send a message for his teammate it seemed.

Dogs need to step up in the 3rd, they gotta play like they want it again. If they can, they should (in theory) win.

Great to see Patches break out of his goal streak.

Edit: Patches gets another point with an assist on Glumac's goal.
