Just like old times... Kipper bailing us out . Kiprusoff should start tomorrow night in Anaheim, he's too hot to not start. Minnesota won so we're still tied for the lead with one more game played by the Flames.
When was the last time we got 6 in a row? What an October... even if they end up sucking for the rest of the season... at least we got the October monkey off our back.

brutal flames game compared to how they played the last 5 games. Kipper won this for us and our 4th line, the rest were not noticeable. Im still amazed the hands Bert has, what a pass, great to see him get two assists tonight to get rid of that goose egg
Third Period
Again a lacklustre period with the noteable exception of Miikka. The defensive zone coverage was mostly very good with a couple lapses. One of which did lead to a goal by the Kings. I actually can’t blame anyone as Langkow’s block went straight to Kopitar who popped it in, and Miikka never stood a chance.
Save of the Game™ has to go to Labarbera’s first and then second saves on Langkow ealier on in the period. If not for his saves the game is pretty much over. As it was the game was for too close for my liking. It should have easily been the Flames from the get go, but the the King’s really set the tone that period.
Bertuzzi was also a force especially when he backed into the checker and placed the puck right on Lanks stick to secure the win. Beauty pass, and a perfect shot!
Overall Impressions
Not a good game. Not a bad game, but not a good one. The energy and intensity of a good solid Flames team just wasn’t there. Play like this against almost any other team in the league and it’s a loss. Thankfully they managed to pull it out and get the 6th win in a row.
The high points were certainly the stellar play of Miikka. Kipper was exactly what we all know he can be. Simply phenominal. Neither goal can be bl;amed on him, and his play gives this team the ability to run 6 straight wins. Bertuzzi also needs to be talked about as he got 2 assists tonight and made some great plays to set up both goals.
Three Stars By Me
1. Wayne Primeau
2. Miikka Kiprusoff
3. Todd Bertuzzi
The Flames didn't deserve to win this game. The Kings were the better team IMO, and they did a great job at containing the Flames' offense for most of the game and they did an excellent job at pressuring the defense, leading to turnovers.
The Flames' POTG is an easy one - Mikka Kiprusoff. He stole this game for the Flames tonight. Good to see him playing well. He's been the biggest reason why the Flames are on their current run.
Fourth line and Kiprusoff were really the only ones who showed up for the whole game. Give the kings credit, they got a great young team who will be pretty solid in the new future. Good teams win when they are supposed to and we did that. Iggy looked pretty much invisible the whole game, which is not good but the rest of the team is picking it up. Our depth is going to let our top 2 lines have fresh legs for a lot longer in the season.
My MVP went to Kipper. I will not come out and say the Flames were not flat. BUT, Kipper wasn't he stole this game, he made saves that he had no right in doing. He was the best player on the ice, hands freaking down, and for that reason alone the Flames deserved to win this game.
6 in a Row....not since December last season have the Flames won six in a row.
The Flames overall had quite a bad game, Iggy + Cammy didn't really do much tonight, I honestly expected a loss after the way they played in the 2nd. But Kipper stood on his head and the 4th line was great. I'm anxious to see how they play in Anaheim tommorow, if they play like this they are toast.
Wow he was just fantastic tonight. He stole that game for the flames. Kings gave all they could, but Kipper was up to the challenge. Tough call if we should continue riding him or let McElhinney start tomorrow against the Ducks.
Also got to give it to the PKers during that last minute. Boyd, Bourque and Vandermeer did everything they could to prevent the kings from tying it up. Some great block shots by all 3 of them. 4th line was great once again and was the only consistant line all night. Love the way Primeau, Nystrom and Prust are playing. Amazing pass by Bertuzzi on Langkow's goal. Great vision and nice hands to get that to Langkow. How can anyone not like what he has done for this team so far? Iginla had an off game. Was just struggling with the puck all night.
A game we shouldn't have won, but with a great goaltending performance and secondary scoring we extended the streak. Will definetly need to be better tomorrow against the Ducks.
The fourth line was great aswell. Forechecking, getting shots and wearing down the D. It's good to have a fourth line that can actually contribute in a positive way. Unlike last year we have a scrapper who is actually a decent hockey player (Prust), while Godard runs around taking dumb penalties.
Hopefully the rest of the team shows up tomorrow night in Anaheim.
I have to admit, I have been hard on Kipper and I wondered if he could ever reestablish his game. I guess that shows me.
I think Kipper is showing many that he can be elite. Has Kipper every played this well so early in the season? Sure the first games were shaky but mroe of team shakiness with zero D zone coverage and not all Kipper. If Kipper can play like this most games and with balanced scoring depth... well I am getting ahead of myself but it looks great
