Price's neck protection

I've always been worried about Price's neck, because he wears only a low neck protector, leaving a good bit of space between it and the bottom of his mask. After Zednik's accident with Jokinen's skate last year and looking back at incidents like the one with Clint Malarchuk, it seemed a bit risky for him to go without better protection. However, I noticed this picture from yesterday's practice. It looks like he may be trying out some better neck coverage, which I think is a good thing. Or, maybe he's just breaking in the "dangler" for Roy Night on the 22nd?

The chances of anything happening are so rare. He finds it uncomfy, oh well.

When he went in against Anaheim for Halak, he didn't even have the little red neck guard on.

probably uses it in practice to make sure he doesn't get injured but when it's crunch time (game time) he would rather do without it

I wear the same one. Anything larger gets really annoying, and makes it harder to see down.
