Ya... I can't believe that the gvt hasn't jumped on it and made a buck out of it, legalize all drugs imo put a massive tax on it like they do with alcohol and cigarettes, let people do what they want. When our police aren't chasing after drug dealers they can do more useful things

As a Caps fan first and a Sens fan second, here's to an entertaining game tonight.

And here's to hoping Ovie wants to recreate that game on 12/30/07. You know, this one.

An Election day gdt. Could get ugly in here if the wrong guys win

Caps had our number last year. We could really see them turn the corner last year. And their lineup is now looking pretty imposing. Fresh off a bag skate where all their stars were called out and the return of ovie, Sens will have their hands full tonight.

Auld will be put to the test, we may find out if he is mere mortal tonight.

Fisher alfie get the task of line matching with ovechkin too, fresh off their Lecavalier matchup. A game Fisher apparently found his game in again, except for scoring of course. Coach is happy, but some of our accountant fans are still apoplectic over it.

Laich seems to be solidifying a good role over there. Probably a better player than Eaves? And Fedorov on defense again?

It's going to take quite an effort to find a way to win this one. Win and we are only 1 pt back of the leafs. Yikes. Lose and we are a new entry in the Tavares sweepstakes

Go Sens Go.

He'll be at center. I guess it hasn't been posted, but the Caps' lineup will be (via http://voices.washingtonpost.com/capitalsinsider)

Quote:
Forwards
Ovechkin-Backstrom-Kozlov
Fleischmann-Nylander-Semin
Laich-Fedorov-Bradley
Brashear-Gordon-Clark

Defense
Morrisonn-Poti
Schultz-Green
Erskine-Jurcina

Scratches - Steckel and Fehr
Johnson is expected to start in goal but I guess that could change at the last minute the way it did the past 2 games.

Election night game versus the Washington Caps. Ooooh.

Things to hope for: a Sens regulation win, a Fisher goal (I'll just take a point if I have to), and an election win that won't cause me to tear my hair out.

Apart from the importance of the US on Canada and the world, it could be a historic election. Considering America's history, the election of a black man would be a dramatic twist to a story that is very well known in Canada. I mean "To Kill a Mockingbird" is commonly read in Canadian schools. The friction of races in the US has also been a mainstay on the television that we watch.

This is an event that could rival Martin Luther's "I have a Dream Speech" in terms of its historic importance. Looking back at it, would you have prefered to have seen that speech or to have watched an NHL game?

I would think most of the East coast games would be over before anyone has been named President elect.

Thank goodness for youtube, we can watch any speech Obama gives later. And only need to watch his speech, no talking heads. We already know the result of the election anyway, its the outcome of the game that is in doubt.

Saw this a while ago and the reaction videos actually amuse me more. People's reactions to it are hilarious. Some of them are absolutely priceless.

Depends, do we win the game at least?

Everyone always tells me how I throw my vote away every election.

Eh, thanks to electronic voting I think the election's going to be a lot closer than people think.

Plus there's that whole 'whatever its called' effect (comes from a California governor's election... I can't remember the name of the guy) - where people will say that they're undecided, or voting one way to avoid being considered racist - though they've decided differently.
