I keep saying it, any lead they get is more likely to end in a loss than any deficit they let up. Like last year, they can't stand prosperity so they took a genius strategy; rebuild the team, downplay its abilities and get behind in every game. But playing from behind all year will not work until the get their heads out of their ass on defense. If only Toronto didn't control the TSN/Sportsnet/Score trio. Their surprising start is reason enough for them to totally ignore the other teams in Canada, especially the 8-1-1 Habs. Even when we were the surprise team in 05-06 starting 13-3-3 we took a back seat to Toronto and their "woes" in Quinn's final tour of duty.

To be fair, TSN has been very good with the Habs so far this season.

Well, Danis dropped the ball. The Isles had just barely lost an OT decision to the Flyers before blowing their game to us, then redeeming a blown lead against the Jackets. Hopefully for them, another one ain't coming. I hope they can put a damage in the armour of the "Eastern Conf. Best" (yeah thanks to 15 ****ing games!) Rangers. I feel less rotten about us being down 4-1 to them at all. 3-7-2 but you know, they've competed a lot more than that record would indicate. No 7-0 whitewashes like Atlanta with Waddell doing his best Milbury impression.

'Tis true, but I'm not sure what's more painful: a surprising but middling Leaf team taking the headlines or a trainwreck suicide-inducing Leaf team taking headlines (2005-08 style). I think I prefer the Leafs getting interest for actually doing something well on the ice instead of the usual "Coming up, the Canadiens are off to a great start but Guy Carbonneau thinks they could be better. But first, what's wrong with Jason Blake? Why did he get scratched? For more we go to Claude Feig." Yuck. Those sob stories were just an excuse for Leaf news. Winning comeback games is actually news-worthy.

Grabo has come on of late, but he'd never get more than 4th line minutes with the Habs if we kept him and none of our centres got hurt. Them's the breaks. If Lang gives us what we pay him for (we got him with the 2nd rounder Toronto gives us) and Pateryn contributes on the farm, I'm happy. We don't need any more teams fans assailing Hab management saying "Grabs=another Ribeiro. Add him to the list of guys they pissed away like Hainsey, Beauchemin, Perezhogin (lighting up the KHL... wooooo, amazing). Stupid Habs." You see, that kind of comment shows just how good we've been at developing young players. There wasn't enough room for them all! And there'll be more casualties as time wears on!

Wow, Toronto just had an incredible surge in that 2nd.

I've said it before & I'll say it again, though, it won't last. The wheels will fall off come Feb. Hard work can only get you so far, & when the bounces start going against them, they'll struggle.

Grabovski with his 5th of the year to tie it up.

Good to see he's finally able to make it happen.

I am very happy to see him doing well.
Great pick up for the Leafs.
He has a 3 point night going and is really working his tail off.

Cue the "Gainey stupid for holding on to Dandy, Begin, and trading for Lang when we already had a great player" ********. More reasons for some to bash Lats, who I admit has never struck me as a potentially better player than Grabo but we do have Pacioretty, Chips, Maxwell and others deserving of a shot in the coming years. Time ran out for Grabs.

Do you really think we'd give him a chance to best Lats knowing how he's a prized boy of the media and has some fans? THAT could have been Ribeiro pt. 2 indeed. We needed some grit so Begin was going to stay. I guess the only guys retained from last year I couldn't comprehend were Breezy and Dandy. I like Grabs but when he excels like this, it brings out the usual "Told ya so" idiots who were nowhere to be found when he was invisible the first half dozen games.

P.S. I hope the Laffs remember not to go up until later in the period. Whenever they have a lead before the 3rd due to the comeback, they seem to lose. Maybe they can set a record for highest % of wins achieved by comebacks from 2 or more down? They look like the 05-06 Habs right now (although they mostly turned 1 goal deficits into late rallies to win by 1).
