GM of the week - Hover's Crafts
- Team Hover took it to Team TTN with a 7-3 spanking, dropping TTN right out of the playoff race, and putting himself just 8 points out of a playoff spot. The race is tight!
Honourable mention - Opy
- Team Opy held on to a convincing 7-3 victory over the league leading FS. Unfortunately though...it had to meaning to the standinds.

LoS of the week - ToTheNet
- His team is plummeting like the Titanic.
Honourable mention - FireStevens
- Team FS is on a slide...even though he still has a pretty nice lead on the 2nd place BB.

Keeper Rules:
Draft
- Draft is NHL style going from pick 1-12 each round for 12 rounds.
- Draft position will be determined by the order of finish in the league including playoffsfor the top 6 teams.
- The top 6 teams will get picks 12, 11, 10, 9, 8, and 7.
- The bottom 6 teams will pick based on their order of finish of the regular season so 12th place will get 1st overall pick no matter how that team does in the consolation bracket.
Trades
- The trade dealine will be around a week after the NHL trade deadline and it applies to any type of trade, including players, draft picks or prospects.
- Every trade must be either posted on HFBoards or in the yahoo message board for everyone to see for it to be official. State the two teams involved and what the trade is and then both teams need to confirm the trade is valid and agreed on.
- No draft picks may be traded more than 1 draft ahead. This means during this coming season you may trade only for 2009 draft picks. 2010 picks may be traded starting on August 1st after the 08-09 season is over.
- When a trade is made it will almost always go through unless people have a MAJOR problem with it.
- The day after the NHL regular season ends trades are again allowed to be made.
Rosters
- Each team will have 19 rostered players to start the season.
- After the draft some people may have the rights to more players than others and more than 19 players(ie 7 keepers+15 draft picks=22 players).
- Rosters must be trimmed to 19 players and finalized by September 15th each year. Rosters are finalized by either posting on HFboards or yahoo the 19 players you want on your roster or by posting any players you would like dropped in order to trim the roster to 19.
- Rosters will be input into Yahoo around September 15th each season and any team with more than 19 players will only get the top 19 ranked Yahoo players that they have the rights to, others will automatically be dropped with no compensation.
- If you did not have enough draft picks to field an 19 man roster you must wait until rosters are input into yahoo around September 15th and then wait for players to clear waivers(2 days) before you can add them.
Keepers
- 7 Keeper players per team.
- Keeper players must be selected before the NHL regular season ends.
- Everyone goes into the offseason with 7 keeper players and must only have 7 keeper players by the time the next seasons fantasy draft is held or else they will be forced to release one player.
- You may through trade have more than 7 keeper players between the end of the NHL season and the draft but you must only have 7 keeper players by draft day.
Prospects
- a 2 round prospect draft will be health about 10 games into the regular season.
- Each team will be allowed to have up to 5 prospects on their team but only 2 players may be drafted each season.
- Prospects do not take up roster space but you are limited to 5 in your teams "system".
- If you already have 5 prospects in your system come time to draft your new prospects you will either have to pass on your prospect draft pick or drop a prospect when you pick up a new one in the draft.
- Prospects must already be drafted by an NHL team for you to be able to draft them(no Tavares yet).
- Prospects are considered prospects if they are not in the Yahoo draft system.
- Prospects can stay in your prospect pool as long as you want but as soon as you put them on your Yahoo roster they cannot be sent back to the prospect pool even if they are sent back to the minors or Juniors.
- The same rules apply to trading prospects as they do to any other player but you cannot have more than 5 prospects in your team's system.

Please make sure to add RR's 5th round pick. He should have his own as well as mine.

I was just looking at 2 of Opys trades and I realized that he traded away Langkow and then traded to get him back a month later. So basically Langkow comes back so he never really moved. The guy he originally traded for, Gagner, he recently dropped from his team and picked up that fat square headed Wellwood. What I noticed was that the trade was essentially...

Opus gives- Scott Gomez+4th+11th
Hover gives- Kyle Wellwood+8th+10th

Opus my friend, it is my opinion that you lost this trade, almost as bad as the thrashers lost in the coburn trade.

I moved Langkow in hopes Gagner would return and build off last years performance, potentially a blue chip keeper. Yeah, no. He's been in the 'sophomore slump' and a half. When my team was able to aquire Cannon to compliment Spezza, I felt we needed more goal scoring and PP points...hence, we brought Langkow back and claimed Welly off waivers.

We tried to give Gagner every chance to battle it out with Dubinsky for 'keeper status', but that just wasn't the case.

Clearly, the we we had hoped for the trade to work out...yeah...right. It just didn't go according to plan.

It's going to take more than that, but he's certainly up for the taking.

Player Goals Assists +/- PIM PPP SHP GW
Gomez 3 8 -2 8 4 0 2
Wellwood 6 1 3 0 4 0 2

The difference at the current time between the two players isn't as bad is it looks on paper. There is a method to my madness.

I think.

Well if thats the case then you could have dropped gomez for Wellwood and saved yourself the picks. Or even better you could have just traded Gomez to hover for picks...he gave you an 8th and a 10th along with langkow for Gomez, if you never traded away langkow in the first place Im sure you could have got at least a 6th or so out of him. That way you would keep langkow and your 4th and 11th AND pick up a 6th! Then you could have picked up wellwood with the extra roster spot.

I just confused myself and now i have a headache.

You are welcome

I am trying to think of one to go with part 3...

It's been a struggle, I must say

I think I'll just keep it simple and go with...

"HF Flyers Keeper League: Hat Trick Edition"

But I'm tempted to go with something like...

"HF Flyers Keeper League: Threesome"

Anyone want Gomez for a similar goal scoring centre or RW?

We have a long ways to go... We'll think of something.

Trois sounds like a word that could be used in many a funny way
