Could Larionov’s and Ward’s former teammate Brendan Shanahan be reunited with Ward in Boston soon? Sources tell Murphy’s Law that Shanahan has listed the Bruins, Rangers, Islanders, Devils, and Canadiens as his top choices to sign with after giving his agent Rick Curran the green light to explore other options than the Rangers recently. Shanahan had been waiting on Rangers GM Glen Sather to make a decision of whether to bring the three-time Stanley Cup champion back for another stint on Broadway, but it appears the Rangers are content with their present lineup which headed into play Thursday night, were second overall in points with 21. The Blackhawks, Blues, Penguins and Flyers have all expressed interest in Shanahan but the 39 year-old forward would prefer to remain in the Northeast and close to his family who resides in the New England area, so the Blues and Blackhawks may not be what most likely will be this possible future Hall of Famer’s final team.
Id do it if he really wants to play the rest of the year in Montreal, but we heard Gainey say what he did not long ago .
for who ever gets him ,he would come cheap, you dont have to give anything up to get him and he is off the books at end of season ,he won 3 stanleys and supposed good locker room presence, so there would be little risk in this one .
