we should be able to score a goal or two, seeing as malik will be on the ice for 20 minutes

Knowing our luck Malik will net a hat trick and have 5 hits in the game.

Same lineup for tonight, as well as the same lines. Patrick Rissmiller and Dan Fritsche will again be scratches.

Scott Gomez missed the skate for “maintenance” to an undisclosed injury, but will play.

Tom Renney expects the Lightning, losers of two straight to the Rangers in Prague, to come out with an edge.

“They’re going to come out hungry,” Renney said. “They’re going to try to certainly remind us that they are a better team than they were in Prague.”

Finally, the line of the morning goes to reader Richard responding to the above post:

“Maybe if we cheer for Malik tonight at MSG, it will throw his game off.”

Classic…

I like it... even though I know fans of other teams probably hate it. Well, who gives a **** since most of them will find some other dumb reason to hate the Rangers anyway

I wouldn't mind it if all teams did it.

I think the former is more likely than the latter

Hopefully we wont get owned by Mike Smith. I won't hope for PP goals but maybe we can squeeze some offense out of our top guys at even strength tonight and get back on track.

Smith played last night in the shootout vs the Devs, we should see Kolzig, no?

I like our chances against him in a shootout. Jersey torched that guy last night.

Smith got deked out of his shorts by Elias and Langenbrunner.

You would think so but apparently not, according to a local tampa writer.

Smith will be back in net, probably a way to allow him to move past last night when he didn’t play his best game.

He tends to come up with big saves against us at times. But we need to break through. Im sick of hearing people talk about 'hot goaltending' every time we have trouble scoring.

Drury needs a 3 point night. The Drury we're seeing out there now is not the real Drury. He needs to get going

I love it. I personally think every team in the NHL should do it and I don't really care if people think they are "ripping it off". I noticed the Blackhawks doing it this year and I say good for them.

Big game tonight..Marek Malik returns, he will surely get a nice video tribute and standing ovation

Lightning lead 7-0 midway through the 3rd period, but much like the Rays in Game 5 of the ALCS, they collapse and the Rangers rally for a thrilling 8-7 comeback win

That's an understatement. We can't lose to the Leafs, Isles, and Bolts in a row. Who are we, the Thrashers!?

I want a solid win... a laugher. 6-2 or something thereabouts. If the powerplay can score 1 or 2 (hopefully Renney put their feet to the fire) we can run up the score on these a-holes.

Hopefully we'll get back on track tonight. I've missed the last two games, so maybe I'll get out of my meeting early enough to catch the 2nd and 3rd period.

Let's go boys.
