Team's playing too well right now to put Gerber in, IMO.

Gerber's turn. Yo can't burn out Auld. Auld isn't going to play 70 games this year. Auld got off to a slow start because he hadn't played in soo long. Rusty. Gerbs will probably be a little rusty toinight after the injury layoff but he needs the work. Auld is hot now but has never shown he can handle a full time starting job. We need two healthy productive goalies. Eliot is not ready.

I'm pretty sure it's impossible to get injured outside of a game. Something to do with the laws of thermal dynamics or something.

Yeah I saw that Gleason-Corvo unit and had a little chuckle. Sometimes I wonder what we would have looked like if we'd kept Gleason. But we had so many defensemen back then.

I also chuckled at the projection that Eaves will be on the 4th line. Aren't the Canes ridden with injuries? You'd think he'd move up. Just sayin'.

Battle of the Ruutus!!!

Gerber should get the start tonight for the reasons already stated. Then Auld should face Montreal Tuesday.

My biggest interest in this game will be watching the Vermette-Speatley line. Against Washington I thought Spezza and Heatley both looked weak, although Heatley scored anyway, while Vermette played a strong game. Last night I thought it was the other way around. Vermette wasn't bad, but Spezza and Heatley were playing their game much better and Vermette was having a hard time getting into sync with them (just like anybody on this team not named Alfredsson). A couple of times Spezza hung onto the puck and made a neat play while Vermette was just skating right near him, looking at him as if to ask "What do you want me to do?!!" Maybe they can finally all click together as a unit tonight.

Go Sens Go!!

Like I said, that's just my best guess, Corvo and Seidenberg might be switched. You can pretty much expect Babchuk-Melichar to stay together though.

And Eaves is on the fourth line cause he hasn't done anything so far this season. That is fine though because he'll more than likely be taking some of Walker's shifts, since Walker just came back from injury, and they're trying to ease him back it to things.

Canes coming off one of those humiliating lose 2 points in 3 minutes losses and Ottawa flying high but probably a bit wiped from flying out straight after the game.

Ottawa is going to have to weather the storm because I think the Canes will want this one.

Gleason-Corvo
Wallin-Seidenberg
Babchuk-Wallin

Ward

Expect Gleason's partner and pretty much all of the wingers to change though...
Wow, their defense is pretty weak (no offense, thanks to LarosefortheHart for the lineup). Hopefully we can take advantage of it. I've never been a fan of back to back games, hopefully we'll still be up for this one.

Another surprise, was to see Eaves on the 4th line... In retrospect I don't think the trade was as bad as people make it out to be. Corvo isn't necessarily lighting it up and Eaves is struggling and was sidelined part of last game with an illness. I wish him well, but we have guys that can fill his void.

The defense...is a work in progress, it doesn't help that Kaberle and Pitkanen got injured, they were both playing top four minutes, and had some decent chemistry with with Corvo and Gleason respectively.

I think this is the game where Jarkko finally breaks the news to Tuomo that he is adopted.

Yeah that sucks.

Good news for us though

I'm looking forward to tonight. I like watching Canes games.

Well, the D being beat up doesn't matter, we only have to play defense against one line anyway

This should be a fun game though, lots of stuff going on. We have the Ruutus, Corvo and Eaves, then you guys have Martin freakin' Gerber and his Darth Vader mask.

Well, you're in luck.

We collectively decided that the line was patently unfair to our opposition so we split it into two lines.

That's the kind of peeps we are.

We need to trade Neil for Tuomo before the game starts, and get both of the Ruutus on our side.

I was hoping that we were going to pick him up at the deadline last year, I bet he would have been cheaper than that too. Then again, our trading record with Chicago back then was pretty bad... (Arnason, Havlat/Hennessy/Preissing)...

Hopefully Gerber can have one of his good games... With goalies falling all over the league, it would definitely help his tradability, if not his trade value.

Are we going to see another backup? Cam Ward started for them last night.
