He was, truly. It may not have shown up on the score sheet, but Loui played a helluva game last night.
Much better performance from this team last night. The overall commitment to D as a team effort was improved. Still some scary moments when the team appeared to be chasing and reacting in their own end, which is never a good thing. I was a bit stunned not to see more blocked shots, but the team did a much better job of closing down the passing lanes. Anaheim's goals were the results of blown defensive coverage, and as Tippett said, a lot of things were done right, but there's definitely room for improvement.
Noticeably and wonderfully absent last night were the bad turnovers, crappy passes and lost battles along the boards that would generate all of the odd-man rushes (and goals) we've seen for the last few weeks. The guys just looked cooler and more calm and composed out there, and they moved the puck well for a change.
I think we all needed a night like last night after this horrible start. Bring on the Sharks.
