What would be even better is if they finally send Rissmiller down already aswell

This doesn't really follow the Rangers recent pattern. Over the past few years when guys like Dawes and Cally and Dubinsky and Immonen were sent back down to Hartford and were lighting it up down there they stayed there until an injury or trade created a need for them to come back to NY. Makes me wonder if a trade has finally been worked out.

You guys don't think Sjostrom deserves to be rewarded a bit and pushed up to a second or third line? Especially over Dawes. I know Dawes isn't a 4th line player but this guy is just absolutely stinking it up. But I do agree with the Korpokoski call up and don't want to see him on the 4th line either. IDK. Thats my problem right now. Who should be playing LW on the 4th line.

It's just tough to break up a good 4th line so they will stay together

Very happy. This had to be done.

Probably.

But I wouldn't be completely shocked if Renney plays Korps at center (he seems to like him there as opposed to the wing) with Callahan plus Dawes/Prucha on the 3rd line, and tries Drury with Gomez and Naslund again on the 1st line.

Hope you're right. We have a few guys twisting in the wind right now, and I don't think its good for the team.

I agree. Enough games for Renny and Sather to see what they have. But who's getting shipped out? And for whom?

Its interesting that Shanahan is still out there. By now he knows what the open market has to offer. It could open the door for Sather to make a low ball offer without insulting the HOF.

Low risk high reward?

Thats one way to see it. Than again the 4th line has shown grit, hustle and the rarest of all Ranger qualities...chemistry

a trade? I highly doubt it...

Korps just playing because they know he's defensively responsible, and now he's got some offensive confidence back. They feel he's got more in the tank to offer than Prucha and Fritsche, and it's true.

Now if only they would remove the three worthless forwards....

I'm with you on this one. Aside from the history you pointed out it just seems strange that they'd recall Korpikoski when we're still rotating guys in and out of the lineup.

Have to assume it's Prucha, but that still doesn't solve the issue of having too many forwards. Unless Rissmiller gets assigned to Hartford.

I agree.

I just got back from my honeymoon (I was in Barcelona, France and Italy for two weeks, awesome time)
and just finished watching the 5 games i missed. Cant say i disagree with this move. Prucha has done absolutely nothing and I'm hoping Korpedo can bring a little more energy to the team.

Its good to be back.

11-5-1 is a pretty damn good start despite the last 4.

Sundin apparently is on his way to Anaheim, and in addition Bobby Ryan reportedly wants out. Rangers need a scoring winger, Korpikoski is back up; Rissmiller, Prucha, and Fritsche are still on the team.

Hmmmmmmmm.........
