Only Setoguchi and Mitchell are exempt. So Goc can be protected, and Plihal too if you wanted.

Yes, as well as Taffe, Beech, Gove, James, Richmond, potentially Minard and Mormina (depending if they were on AHL or NHL contracts in their first AHL stints), and Thomas.
Also, I think the Wings will probably want to keep Howard.

I think I did this correctly, but I just can't see Minnesota giving up either one of Backs/Hards, and outside of the 3 D listed the rest are expendable. The Wild are saved by the youth exemption big time tho.

Pouliot is in for Nolan, so that makes Owen Nolan and Erik Reitz expendable.
IDK, Detroit are no longer contenders with Howard/Conklin. I assumed with McCollum and Larsson in the pipeline Howard was no longer the future, and I went with the present.
Skinner, Thompson, Danis, and Nielsen have 2 or more years in the AHL under NHL contract. Same with Colliton, Walter and Iggluden.
I assume all those players go to the unprotected list, with Nielsen taking Sim's protected spot.

I think both Ericisson and Howard would be exempt and that means Meech could be protected. Keep Draper over Sammy, but other than that, pretty much how I'd go.

I'm pretty sure that the list for the Leafs I posted is completely wrong. A bunch of the players that are protected should be exempt, and Jonas Frogren is a first year pro (I think), so he should be exempt as well. I'm not sure if guys like Kronwall or Newbury in the AHL should be included as well.
I don't really have the time to go over it again, so it'd be great if someone else can take a second look at the Leafs.
