Anyone pick up this game for PS3? With all the big releases over the past two or three weeks I feel like this little gem fell under the radar. I picked it up the other day and finally got a chance to sit down and play it last night. What a great game so far.
For those who are not familiar, It's a strategy RPG set in 1930's Europe (using fictional countries). The game looks (has a unique art style) and plays great so if your an strategy/RPG fan and have a PS3, highly recommend it. I've only played about 4 hours but I'd say this is my favorite strategy/rpg since I played Final Fantasy Tactics way back when.
I was thinking about picking it up today, but I still haven't even finished Disgaea 3 or LittleBigPlanet. Plus I recently bought Rock Band 2 and Bioshock, which I haven't even taken out of the shrinkwrap yet.
I want this one very much. The demo revealed an absolutely breathtaking visual design with a very fresh and strategic battle system. If the story is as good as reviewers have said, this will be a phenomenal title to pick up.
Wow, I'm constantly impressed by the art in this game. The story is kind of weird, though, it's a pretty startling contrast between the anime-tinged character design, the pastoral setting, and the playful-by-Japanese-standards banter counterbalanced by the absolutely merciless reflection of war and racism. You'll see a beautiful blue sky sunny day, and civilians being gunned down in cold blood in the same frame. It's disorienting.
The combat, I'm just now unlocking how absolutely brilliant the combat is. I'm only scratching the surface, but it manages to have considerable depth without forcing you to bomb into its complexity in order to enjoy the game.
This game is an absolute steal at $20, I can't believe it's this cheap. I already beat it when it was first released when I rented it from GameFly but I saw this sitting on the shelf at Gamestop. Even though I already beat it, for $20, I picked it up and bought it on the spot. The gameplay is just amazing.
