Former Capitals Prospect Robert Mueller likely to lose battle against cancer

I have already posted about this in the forum for German hockey, but since Robert is a former Capitals prospect, I hope you guys don't mind that I make another post here.

German media reported today that Robert Mueller will lose his battle against a brain tumor. The doctors said that he has already survived longer than most people with his condition, but it is unlikely that he will survive another year.
I hope and wish that Robert, his family and his friends find the strength to deal with this terrible situation.

For those of you who understand German:

I always loved that kid and his spunk in some of the camps. He had a great one on one session with Jagr once at the end of a practice. Faired pretty well.

Plus he rocked the yellow pads way before MAF ever did.

Great to see Robert back in action today. His attitude and fight is just amazing, should be an example for other people.

He is back with the Cologne Sharks as backup keeper and made his comeback on the ice.

Always sad when someone so young (and with a young family) has a terminal illness.

Very sad news, but it was nice to read his words on the topic... shows his great attitude and some of the spunk Strung referenced.

The enemy in Müller’s head, German goalie disclosed disheartening details about his tumour.

Really a sad turn of events. I really feel bad for his family.

I would not know how it is to be that young and knowing you will die in a few months not knowing what will happen to your wife and kids.

I know he clung to hockey till his last days and wonder how his wife felt about him spending so much of his last months playing hockey. She must be a true saint to not be selfish and let him be happy.

Thoughts and prayers go out to him and his family.
