I hope the players explained to Carbo that Kovy should be playing more PP than PK. And that Lang and Koivu are better suited to play against the likes of Antropov and Grabovski than Plekanec's line. And that Sergei is a much better PP option than Komisarek.
I hope the players explained to Carbo that Kovy should be playing more PP than PK..
i agree with that, keep this guy fresh for the PP and even strength, he has so many odd combos for the PK, you really only need 3, maybe 4 for like a dbl-minor...
I can only imagine the conversation: Brisebois:"you guys are soft, you guys plays like *******!" From wich everybody else looks at one another and say:"ok we're REALLY in trouble!".

The message was loud & clear: there's nothing to worry about.
They all talked about how the perfect 60 minute game wasn't possible, so they needed to stop feeling guilty. Players took turns blaming factors such as bad ice, the long break in between games, playing 2 games in 2 nights & after 20 minutes it was agreed that they were indeed awesome.
The rest of the 40 minutes was spent plotting their revenge on Grabovski.
I hope Gui didn't have to cope all on his own.
The team could use a good kick after the way they played the last couple of games. Heck, even after the game against Minnesota. They're taking too many penalties and it's causing them to lose the focus on the game they play.
I guess the fun and games are over for a little while, wait unti they string a couple of wins and they'll be playing loose and happy again.
The "It's good to know we can win games when we don't play our best, that's what good teams do" speech gets old after 1 or 2 games. When you hear players saying this after 5 or 6 games in a row, there is a problem. We needed a good kick in the ass.
Directly after the game, I was hoping this would happen. The team's clearly headed in the wrong direction, and the last few games have really dropped in effort.
better 10 games into the season rather to 10 games to the playoffs.
As you say; its always better to get a bad slump over with in the beginning of the season instead of in late-february (when games usually matter more), with only about 15-20 games left in the regular season.
Monday's practice was delayed by more than an hour while coach Guy Carbonneau held a video session with the team. The focus was on fixing their defensive zone coverage as Carbonneau says they've been thinking offence too much and opponents are exposing that tendency. - TSN
