5 wins in a row, Theo with 6 goals allowed in the last 5 games, OT and last minute winners from unlikely sources: Rivet, Begin and Wardo, the last 4 wins all in the last minute of play or in OT.
CJ has this team playing up to its full potential. Sure they are fragile at times and go on the occasional skid, but he seems to find ways to get this team back on track and playing sound hockey once again.
The other interesting note is that the 03-04 Habs, with 15 games to go, have now exceeded their total points output for both the 98-99 season and the 00-01 season. They are only one win away from topping the 02-03 output. All this with changes more by deletion than addition to the lineup. Good management and good coaching has more than an intangible value IMO.
Ward, Perreault, Dagenais, Boullion and Brisebois were the five players on the ice when Wardo scored the game-winner. Wow, who would have thought they were the key to success against the Stanley Cup champs, in the final minute of a tie game, on the power play!
Got to hand it to Claude Julien; he's doing an impressive job. Showing confidence in those players, and having it pay off, can go a long way to team unity and overall confidence in one another.
Way to go Wardo, may you get the opportunity to score a few more.
