Info on some of your prospects

I would like to know about Brett Sutter, CJ Severyn, Kyle Greentree, Ryan Wilson and Adam Pardy.

Do you think any of those guys have a shot at sticking in the NHL, and how do you project them at this level?

Thanks a ton.

Sutter: Had a good camp and was one of the best conditioned players in camp. Keeps his game simple - energy, physicality and strong two-way play. Limited offensive upside but could have a future in the NHL as a 4th liner, or at best 3rd liner

Severyn: Sorry can't help with him

Pardy: Has to clear waivers to be sent down and as such has stuck around so far, as the #7 dmen. Stay at home dman with good size. At times quickness appears to be an issue, not necessarily from point a to point b but more in terms of overall mobility, and footwork. Very limited offensive upside, upside is that of a final pairing dman or #7 guy. Needs to keep his game VERY simple to have success. Has done well to make it this far.

Ryan Wilson - Hard shot, big hits, but I haven't seen enough of him to know what his overall game is like.

Greentree: Started slow on the farm but scored a hatty this weekend. Older prospect but only has been out of college for a year in a half. I think he will be a "tweener" a guy that gets called up from time to time for a cup of coffee but never sticks.

These opinions formed with some, but limited viewings.

Can't really help you either with the very minimal viewings I've had of these guys, but for most you may want to check out the QC Flames thread.

I know PIMking sees a lot of the QC games, and does provide a lot of no nonsense updates on a lot of the guys on the farm.

and Here I am.

Brett Sutter is a pure heart player. 150% all the time. Great on the pk but will be a 3rd liner at best in the nhl and a pk specialist. I can actually see him as being a Pest/agitator type. ( Ian Laparrier comes to mind)

Pardy Will become a top 6 Dmen and an everyday NHL player next year. Hes tough as nails and quiet. which is good because you really dont want to notice your defencemen unless they are Dion.

Ryan Wilson is an absolute beast. Cannon of a shot, Handles the puck better than most fowards on the qc flames team the only problem is his skating. (mainly turning in traffic and pivoting) He hits like a freight train. If this kid can pick up his skating he will be a top 4 Dmen probably 3 years though.

Kyle Greentree. He is sorta an inigma. Played awesome this weekend in Texas but has been invisable at home. Missing on easy goals that were rebounds bounced right to his stick. I dont know if the Rookie tourny Injury has something to do with this or not. This guy is a classic late bloomer type player. He came to the pro ranks from college and last year was his first year in Philly. ranked 1st in rookies in scoring. Big body has to play infront of the net to be effective kinda like TH in Detroit.

I have high hopes for wilson. Good kid has the tools just needs to be polished.
Hope this helps.

I guess I'll give my thoughts. Limited viewings on most of these guys.

Sutter- The player I've seen the most of. Really love this kid. Everytime I've seen him he goes all out and is a hard working guy. Always gives 110%. Has a really good shot. Definetly has the potential to be a good 3rd/4th line grinder.

Severyn- College kid who I haven't seen much of at all. Saw him for 2 days in the development camp last summer and can't say I really noticed him.

Greentree-Seen him in one game and he ended up getting hit from behind and had to leave on a stretcher. Up to that point he had been pretty invisible.

Wilson- Saw him at the development camp and the rookie tourney. Liked what I saw. Didn't think his skating was as bad as everyone says. Likes to hit and has a pretty good shot. Definetly an offensive defenceman. Reading many QC fans thoughts and they seem to love him down there. Surprising to me that he didn't get drafted. Sutter may have found another Giordano.

Agree for the most part. Pardy, I personally believe is more of a bottom pairing guy than top 6 but does have an NHL future.

I agree with Wilson as well. Limited viewing, but you can see a lot of upside in the kid. Honestly, if this guy got his own power skating coach in the offseason and cleaned up his stride I think he would be a top 6 NHL dman in a season or two. I find that his stride is just very unpolished and jerky. If he smoothed it out, he would increase his mobility and his speed.
