I'm feeling NJ, close to the city where apparently his kids/wife love it.

But he better sign somewhere soon because he's wasting a roster spot on my fantasy team.

Your fault then for keeping him.

Philly put Kukkonen on waivers.

Everyone say Hello to Brendan Shanahan, he'll be appearing in the Orange and Black soon.

I'd deffiently have to say Philadelphia looks to be the team whos gonna get him.
They got their stud d man now in Carle and traded off Downie also in that package along with a weak d man. Now put another guy on waivers, so that tells me they deffiently made the room and want Shanny and that's starting to look like quite the damn team. Mind you it looked good before.

I'd really like to see him on the Avs, he's been one of my favourite players since I started watching hockey (yes...even the Detroit years). He'd be a great player to learn from for guys like McLeod, McCormick and Wolski, he'd allow the Avs to send down Jones and he'd play with good talented linemates.

He'll sign with Buffalo. Or Dallas....they seem to be getting free agents that alot of teams supposedly had interest in.

Just sign with the Flyers already. He'll get to punch Gomez and Drury in the mouth while Cote and Orr in the box.

I really wish he would come to NJ, but the waiving of Kukkonen kindve convinces me that he will be with Philly.

Damn.

Same. I really think he'd be someone that would fire up this team. It's even worse that he'll end up with the Flyers.

If he doesn't sign with somebody today, we'll know that his agent is full of crap.

He's way too slow to catch either of them. His walker can't make him any faster, either.

The Devils definitely have the cap space to sign him. I'm leaning towards him burring the hatchet if it's still there and going back to Jersey.

So his agent put the word out that he would be signed by Friday, and he's still not signed. I get the suspicion that none of these teams have actually made him a firm offer and his agent is trying to get one of them to pull the trigger by thinking if they don't they'll lose him to another team.

Here's from Andy Strickland.

I am told a decision has been made as the final two teams came down to New Jersey and Philadelphia.

A friend close to the Pittsburgh Pengiuns tells me Pittsburgh was never interested and was never in the running.

There were never as many teams interested in signing Shanahan as speculated. Only a few teams ever expressed serious interest.

St. Louis and Chicago were two of them.

I assume a announcement will come down shortly. I am about as done with this story as I was with the Mats Sundin drama several weeks ago.

Maybe I'm wrong and he will sign today like Strickland says but I'm not really convinced.

I'm getting the feeling that Shanny is thinking in the area of $3M, and the real world is thinking in the area of $1M.

Damn. Today I see Bissonette was sent down to the A for the Penguins assuming a move was coming and now I see that Pittsburgh apparently was never in the running...

Eklund had the Shanahan signing to be announced during HNIC with the Flyers and Devils in a dead heat, lol.
