just a shout out to your announcers tonight.. only had the Dallas feed and they are not homerish at all.. strangely enough people here and the announcers were defending Brown's major.. strange to see these all these open minded views but nice anyway.. good luck thurs!
Well, they didn't call Brown a, and I'm improvising here a bit, "visor seeking missile; a scud." Nor did they sound like they were about to hyperventilate over a hit like some others do, though the hit sending Robidas into the Kings bench came close only because they liked it.
No suspension for Morrow and they rescinded Tippett's fine. Good call by the league. I doubt anything happens to Brown either.
Just your typical hard-fought Kings/Stars game. Look forward to tomorrow. I hope we get Oscar Moller back.
The TSN story said no further disciplinary action was expected for Brown. Finally a good call by the NHL. I was afraid they would keep Morrow's 1 game suspension and give one to Dustin Brown to try and curtail a possible grudge match. It sounds crazy, which is exactly why I would expect it from the NHL.
Good calls by the league on the no further action.
In the heat of the game, I can see why they threw both guys out. Morrow did jump him, and Brown did "board" him, though there was no dirty intention. To keep control of a game that had been getting increasingly physical, the refs overreacted rather than underreacted, and I can understand that.
As for Brown, eh. It was a hit that ended up being boarding rather than someone trying to crush a guy into the boards. Ribeiro being off balance made it look worse than it was. It's very, very much like Daley upending a Pred (Upshall or Hartnell, I think) and sending him sliding neck first into the boards 2-3 years back. Ended up looking bad, but the intention wasn't there.
