If the Stars got to that point ... they'd lose in the lottery.

dont worry, if things get real bad, Hull will lace em up and cement himself in the slot. all he will have to do is tag up and stay onside, which might be a lot to ask nowadays. the guy can sure pound beers though i saw him chug one at the stars casino night when he was still the "ambassador of fun"

I'm just glad Armstrong is gone, and Dallas fans can look forward to a 1st round pick.

Dallas received:

Mattias Norstrom (Retired), Konstantin Pushkarev (RFA not resigned by the Stars now playing in Europe), 2007 third round pick (#64-Sergei Korostin), 2007 fourth round pick (Traded to Blue Jackets for three 2007 fifth round picks (#128-Austin Smith) (#129-Jamie Benn) (#149-Michael Neal)

Los Angeles received:

Jaroslav Modry (Traded for 2008 third round pick (#88-Geordie Wudrick)), Johan Fransson (Still unsigned and playing in Sweden), 2007 second round pick (#52-Oscar Moller), 2007 third round pick (#82-Bryan Cameron), 2008 first round pick (Traded to Anaheim as part of package (17th overall pick from Calgary acquired in Cammalleri trade) to acquire the 12th Overall pick (Traded to acquire #13-Colton Teubert and 2009 3rd round pick))

It's hard to say because they were so many moving parts, but I wouldn't give Benn up for anything.

Just for fun who do you think the Stars would take?

I would think Hedman, but JT would be tempting

We still have a couple of months to trade that pick away.

The stars will finish in the 7-10 range, I'm sure about that. The personel are simply too good to continue on like this for long.

If the Stars tank deliberatly to get a high draft pick that's when I stop cheering for the team. tanking is something 3rd rate franchises do because they can't win any other way, and I won't stand for Dallas doing so.

There not. Thinks arent going well, and i think there trying to hard and are getting frustrated. Im finding it harder and harder to keep being positive, but they're my team so no matter what im with them!

oh I'll keep on cheering for them to win even if they lose every single game the rest of the season. But the second they trade off a bunch of their players for prospect and call up the AHL'ers that's it for me. I recognize that at some point that might be the best "option" for the future of the franchise but I can't support a team that's trying to lose.

Dallas might as well just roll with Stephan and Bachman if Turco doesn't get his **** togather. the team will be solidly in a rebuilding phase at that point.

Nicklas Backstrom - Will re-sign with Wild
Mathieu Garon - Not any better than Turco
Dwayne Roloson - Terrible
Manny Fernandez - I'm sick of people coming back to Dallas
Tim Thomas - No way in hell he doesn't re-sign with Boston
Martin Biron - Not any better than Turco

and anderson is the pick of the back ups....
Fixed

Tavares could be the next Mike Modano.
Hedman could be the next Sergei Zubov.

Perhaps we should trade to get another 1st round pick, then trade up and get both of them! Muahahahahahahaha!

No, honestly, I'd prolly prefer Hedman.

I'd take Tavares (just to contribute)

it's been too long since Dallas had a legitimate goal scoring threat.

Obviously would take Hedman, but I'd even be fine finishing even lower and taking Jordan Schroeder he's going to be outstanding in the NHL.

Dallas will bounce back, they've got good offense, good goaltending and pretty good defense.

BTW From a Dallas standpoint I would probably take Hedman, though My Blues would probably take Tavares since we already have Erik Johnson and Alex Pietrangelo.

Lets Keep Morrow, Ribeiro, Eriksson, Grossman and trade the rest for 1st round picks...Maybe if we are lucky we can get both Tavares and Hedman...
