Is this the year Iginla becomes the greatest Flame ever?

So I was looking at the Flames all-time scoring statistics. And I was thinking, what does Iginla have left to prove he is the greatest Flame ever?

After this year I think he should have moved clear of Fleury. However, is this the year that Iginla also moves past Al MacInnis for good? Iginla is already the Flames leader for Goals and Games Played and after this year (touch wood) will become the top point producer (he needs 62 to pass MacInnis for second and 70 to pass Theo) and should be closing on the top 3 in assists (and also closing on top ten in PIM )

So I guess the question is, how much more does Iginla need to do to prove he had a better career (as a Flame) than MacInnis?

a conn smythe

imo he's already cemented his place in the greatest flame

although a conn smythe really would cement that position

A cup. I don't care if he gets Conn Smythe or not, he just has to help us win a cup.

Measured by points per game Jarome is below Nilsson, Nieuwendyk, Fleury, Chouinard, MacInnis,Suter.

Yup. Back in '04, there was all that talk about "Messier-type leadership." The phrase hasn't been uttered since. He's got the individual accomplishments and awards, gold medal, THN #1 ranking, respect from other players and fans, but this is what's missing.

He definitely needs to add a Cup to his resumé. He's definitely on the greatest Flames of all-time, but he still needs to get that elusive ring to be considered the best Flame ever.

Ditto to the cup. As far as I think he is already the best. Too bad about that goal waived off in game 6 or he would have the ring...

With 94, 96, and 98 points seasons, Iginla has come close to 100 points a few times. With 22 points through 17 games, do you think this is the year he eclipses the century mark?

I've got a good feeling it may be his year.

As for what he has to do to be the greatest, I would agree that a ring would just about do it...

Keeping in mind, that he put up this numbers without being dominant and playing through the flu in the last few games, this indeed might be the year.

It could be the year based on his great start with the flu but added to that are much higher quality line mates such as Bert, Cammy and now Boyd. I would rather a cup than 100 points but what the heck I will go for both.
