Dawes - Korpeedo - Fritsche

I like this line. Perhaps they need each others hunger to find their collective potential.

that line definately did well last night. Wish Dawes can get a little more going though. Renney should try to keep them together. But when Gomez comes back one of the three have to be benched.

I love the player Korpikoski is becoming. Liked him from the first time I saw him play in the World Juniors before we drafted him.

I think Korpedo and Fritsche were far more effective than Dawes, though overall Fritsche is much less the player I remember seeing when he was a Blue Jacket.

I've been impressed with Korpikoski since the beginning of pre-season. He impresses me so much, in fact, that I think he deserves to play with Gomez or Drury, full-time. Then we could move Voros down, where he belongs.

Naslund-Gomez-Korpikoski
Callahan-Dubinsky-Zherdev
Dawes-Drury-Sjostrom
Voros-Betts-Orr

Line looked awesome last night. Fritsche and Korpedo especially. Dawes had a nice game as well but still didnt wow like the other two did. I'd try to keep some form of this line together...whether that means keeping Drury on line 1 when Gomer comes back or moving Korpedo up to 1st line and putting Fritsche on the wing with Drury.

That line did produce some 'solid' numbers last night as well;

Dawes: 2 Assists
Fritsche: 2 Assists
Korpedo: 1 Goal

I think that Fritsche and Korpedo were a lot more visible and both made a great play on the goal that Korpedo scored. Also I believe both of these players can penalty kill if need be where I do not think Dawes would be a very effective penalty killer.

Dawes 2 assists were secondary and one was on the 5 v 3 where all he did was pass it to Mara who kept passing back and forth with Rosival until they scored.

Seriously, there's no way he deserves an assist on that play... It should be the last two players to touch the puck before the goal scorer scored. On that play the puck went from Dawes to Roszi to Mara to Roszi to Mara to Roszi to Mara to Roszi before it finally went in. The scoresheet should read "Roszival from Mara and Roszival". :-P

That line played well last night but I would still like to see korpedo on the wing. I don't think center fits his game and that might have been why he was struggling earlier in the season. He could possibly play well with Gomez feeding him the puck when he gets back.

Get Dawes off and they'll be OK.

Will be happy when Drury is back there. They seem pretty set on using Korpedo at center though so that makes things a bit tough.

Strange pipedream scenario under this season?

Drury – Gomez – Nδslund
Voros – Dubinsky – Zherdev
Korpedo – AA – Callahan
Fritsche/Sjo – Betts – Orr

Extra - B Ryan

AA promoted to NYR
Dawes, Prucha traded for pics and/or a gritty D-man
Rissmiller traded or stuck in Hartford
Bobby Sangs + Greg Moore traded for Bobby Ryan
Maybe add some veteran presence at the Deadline

Redden- Girardi
Staal – Rozie
Mara – Kalinin

New gritty D

OK??

Probably not
Gotta lay off that white stuff...

I just still don't understand why people want to break up the playstation line. Dubinsky, Voros and Zherdev have been playing so well together. You want to punish a guy for scoring 6 goals (which is only one goal behind Drury and his line mate Zherdev) 5 assists and is a +1 player in 18 games? He opens up so much space for Dubinsky and Zherdev to use their speed. He can fore check, pass the puck, screen goalies, drop the gloves, agitate..etc.. He was on the first line in Minnesota probably for these same reasons. He's a very intense, big player, who plays even bigger.
I don't want to touch the 4th line either. Sjostrom, Betts and Orr have been doing a great job. So far, together, they're a plus 6 and can even knock in a few goals. These two lines have been our most consistent lines. Just have to find the right combos for the second and third. Theres talent there, including Korpokoski who I would like to see play on the left side of Gomez with maybe Callahan on the right.

All three looked like NHL'ers for the first time all season...maybe with the exception of Dawes against Detroit.

They all have talent so lets hope they can show some kind of consistent flow for a while.

Not a bad idea. Or simply Sjostrom - Korpedo - Fritsche.

4th line is Voros / Cally- Betts - Orr

First 2 lines are pretty much in tack, just a piece here and there. That means Prucha, Dawes are out.

Dawes had two secondary assists which really didn't add too much to the play. Fritsche had a great assist on Korpikoski's goal and his 1st assist wasn't anything special considering Drury did all the work himself.

That said, the line played a good game. I just hope it wasn't a one game thing against a team who was down and injured. They have to do well in more than one game, but so far so good.

I want to break them up because I just don't think Voros is very good, or at least not very consistent. Since he scored the his five
goals, he's barely even been noticeable except for one or two other games.

And frankly, Dubinsky does all those things, and he does most of them better.

Sjostrom, meanwhile, deserves a shot. He's being held back on the fourth line. Yes, they're good, but maybe Sjostrom can find a bit of a touch offensively if he gets the chance. Not saying he's going to be a big time scorer, but he can contribute a little more if he plays on another line.

Not sold on Fritsche. He's had a few terrible turnovers this year.

did not realize Fristche was so quick! Him and Korpikoski were flying tonight. Dawes = the finisher. Love the 5x pump fist celebration on the goal. Got robbed by the refs in the SO

You seen how quick he is? I didnt realize that he was that quick and he has decent size to go with it.

The line has looked effective so far. Long may it continue because 2 of the guys on that line have the potential to be 60+ point players one day.

honestly, with the speed fritsche and korpedo showed in this game, id go with this lineup:

Naslund Drury Callahan
Voros Dubinsky Zherdev
Fritsche Gomez Korpedo
Sjostrom Betts Orr

Not sure what you do come Monday if Gomez plays. Someone suggested a line of
Fritshe-Gomez-Korpedo which is interesting but not really sure you have a finisher on that line. Cally is making a strong case for top 6 minutes yet now one has played themselves out of a slot. Only thing I know for sure is that it should be a long, long time before Prucha gets back on the ice again.

If Gomez isn't 100% on Monday give him another night off. See what happens but this could turn out to be a good problem. Can never have enough depth or talent up front!
