Dallas might be the worst dump and chase team in all of professional hockey (including the AHL and the european leagues)
Every time the LA player has plenty of time to chip the puck to one of his team-mates, and it's 3 or 4 seconds before Dallas has anyone near that guy. It's just a continous cycle of in and out.
See, was Eriksson's fall not identical to about three of the trips in the this game? Stick in skates without much intention, guy goes down with a chance to make a play on the puck.
It frustrates me when it appears different standards are being applied within in the same game. I'm not saying it is or isn't a penalty, just that it looked like a call from earlier in the game.
Dallas didn't deserve to win this game, but the officiating frustrated me.
If someone falls first, it will probably be Tippett.
Then, given return value, it would probably be young defenseman + relatively young forward (Eriksson or Ott) for a veteran defenseman. I love Boucher as much as anyone, but his trade value is near zero right now, even with his relatively cheap salary for a veteran.
But if they want to blow this thing up (and I'm not convinced it's the best path, though it's certainly a viable option), you'd need to get rid of the guys who are sucking worst first, and that starts with a certain fan-favorite young blueliner.
Honestly, this team is going through a gradual rebuild, and I think that's why you see a lot of the struggles. They've got three defensemen at 25 or younger. There's not much more blowing up you can do back there unless you move one of those young guys.
On the bright side, Turco has looked much more like himself since the Anaheim game. Occasional idiot mistakes with a lot of very good saves. He was fine tonight. The problems lay in the lack of offensive chances and some horrible PKing at times.
What do you mean by tearing it apart? Morrow, Richards, Ribeiro, Eriksson, Turco imo you keep. We have more good parts than bad ones, we just have to get more consistent.
Anyone up for a game of dominoes? I hear there's a whole bunch of em in the Stars front office.
If this isn't fixed in the next few weeks, I bet Tippett gets the axe.
Don't see the point. This team won't win with or without Tippett. No heart. Don't want to battle. It's not the same team like last year. Ribeiro and Morrow have seemed to loss their spark; that's what's really killing us.
this is the worst team in the league by far, nobody else even enters the discussion.
I would rather have a team that has the talent level of the Islanders and have them try to win hockey games, atleast you get satisfaction out of watching them. How could we be so wrong about this team? they've went from one of the top teams in the league to the toilet... I can't figure out what's going wrong and to be honest I've stopped caring.
Can't bring back Neal unless you make cap moves with the forwards (honestly, Petersen is showing why he was a spare in Edmonton - would waive both him and Barch and bring back Neal).
Brunnstrom hasn't deserved to play much either since his first game. He's great at knocking in the Ribeiro-four-foot special, but he struggles almost everywhere else on the ice like rookies do.
I would send Brunnstrom down for like... three weeks, whenever the team he would go to has 10 or so games in that time, and just play the hell out of him to get him adjusted to NA hockey and NA defense. Tell him the scoring gimmes doesn't matter, the backchecking and creating offensive chances do. It saves cap space and it might make him a much more effective hockey player in Dallas.

looks like the pacific has a new whipping boy
Yeah, I've stopped caring as well. I'm gonna stop watching for a while until they get their ***** back together or make a serious change. Mavericks lost as well. There is no Jesussportsgod.
players you keep because they will be the building blocks for the new stars:
-Mike Ribeiro
-Brenden Morrow
-Brad Richards
-Marty Turco
-Nicklas Grossman*
-Fabian Brunnstrom*
players you try and convince to waive their NTC to go to a winning team if this **** is still continuing in a month
-Mike Modano
-Jere Lehtinen
-Sergei Zubov
-Sean Avery
the rest are all up for grabs so far as I'm concerned. Loui Eriksson and Matt Niskanen may turn out to be good players in the future, but I can't see it happening on the Stars.
Brunnstrom and Grossman both play the game the way I like to see it played and will be valuable players in the future so far as I'm concerned... others may have different opinions
